So what does everyone here think of Hanson!!!

I think they suck horribly. At the moment I have "mmbop" stuck in my head I think I'm ready to kill myself.

Ron E has a good Hanson story, but I will let him tell it....

I don't think anything of them, personally. Teen Bopper pop ain't my bag...

I use to think Paul Revere and the Raiders were good.(although Ry Cooder did do some studio work with them)...

Some people grow up with the group as it evolves if the group can and some grow tired. The Beatles were a teeny Bopper group at first..

I give Hanson credit for what they achieved and How they did it - nothing contrived about them -just a garage band getting some hits.

If I were doing a long stretch in a penitentiary, and Hanson were in that same penitentiary, I'd probably like them quite a bit.

Unless of course, somebody had already made me his "Hanson."

I'll admit, I saw them back in 199? Nikki was about 7 or 8 maybe? She wanted to see them so I endured the screaming and other soccer moms with their kids. It was only fun to see Nikki get so excited to be there.
Same with the Backstreet Boys and N'sync. Glad we're over that stuff. :-)

i believe hanson may be the worst band ever to play instruments together. their should never be aloud to sing again...you probably all agree with me on that one.

Heh, someone should make a poll:
What's better, Hanson or bad punk rock?

I really liked it when they teased the Archies "Sugar Sugar" during the mmmbop jam.

I actually caught Hanson on the Sharon Osbourne show the other night. I think they re-run her show late at night and they played an acoustic set...all 3 on guitar...and they weren't half bad. I'd take them any day over the N'Sync or the Backstreet Boys.

and by the way, some VERY funny comments here. Let's remember them for next years Peachies.

I like the "what's worse....Hanson vs. Marylin Manson?"

but 12 non alcoholic beers was a good answer.....I'd be pushed to do a case if I was forced to see or hear their music......any kind they have made.

i usually ignore this sort of juvenile, sour grapes prattle, but this is just WAY beyond funny or decent.

my daughter is 10. she plays guitar and piano, and she's writing her own songs. they sound like songs children would write and sing. sort of like the songs hanson wrote and played, a real band of real brothers who fell in love, in isolation, with their parents' 60's records, learned to play, made an indie record with an incredibly catchy song on it and got caught up in the record-making machinery when they had a hit.

please list your records and your musical accomplishments. y'all sittin' here mocking some CHILDREN playing CHILDREN'S rock and roll? They're working at something, you know? I saw hanson a few years back, and they were quite good. actually they rocked, in a 1960's kind of way. by that time they'd rebelled against their management and record company, and were playing pretty straight. i mean, it's simple rock and roll, how terrible could it be? unless y'all are just talking out your asses, which is what i strongly suspect.

what one perosn thinks is funny, another thinks is pathetic. i see the kind of hater obstacles my child will face in life if she continues to try to achieve in the music world, and given the relatively mild and frankly ineffectual (dare i say 'impotent?') stuff from you guys that's set me off, i don't know how i'm going to handle it.

musichick, if you 'endure' the things your daughter finds joy in, i hope your daughter is less perceptive than most children. condescension fuels distance, and rebellion. and to come here and MOCK your child in front of STRANGERS, whatever her age or whatever the reason, is inexcusable.

all in all, shame on everyone but goliath, scotty & TerriB. shame on you for mocking something you clearly know NOTHING about. shame, shame, shame. everyone of you was raised to act better than this. is this how you'll treat YOUR children when they pick up instruments and start playing?

sheesh. better kids playing music badly than reacting to this kind of attitude, and not playing at all...

I said I endured the screaming and the snotty soccer moms there.....I didn't say anything against the music. No, it's not my cup of tea....and I don't bad mouth or MOCK my daughter's interests at all... anyone who knows me (which you obviously don't, sir) knows how supportive I am of my kid's interests, unlike my own parents who told me "girls don't play drums and go to rock and roll concerts". The fact I take my kids to hear their live music idols should make you see that I do support their interests. I paid alot of money for those shows, I"ll have you know. If I thought they were stupid , I wouldn't have wasted my time and money.
I stood in the pouring rain 3 weeks ago, on a Sunday night to take my kids to see KISS and Aerosmith for my son's birthday present. It was a miserable night to see an outdoor concert, but I didn't complain or make my son feel bad because of it.
My son and daughter have always been encouraged by me to explore their own music interests and because of it, without my pushing them in any direction, both are learning to play guitar, on their own. (I don't have money for lessons).

So, NO I"m NOT ashamed of supporting my kids in their interests.
