I've heard this song a few times on a bread comercial. I usually like my country music "Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash" style, and this song aint that, but I kinda liked it when I heard it, so I snooped around and found this.

Its the great Guy Clark and the unreal Emmy Lou Harris doing it.

Something about Emmy Lou. I have heard some awesome female singers in my days, but I never felt like I was hearing an angel from heaven sing until the 1st time I heard Emmy Lou Harris sing live. As soon as she started singing I just went numb for a moment just at the sound of her singing voice

Allison Krauss is close regarding this style of singing, but I have NEVER heard anything to compare with Emmy Lou.

Enjoy...

Not to mention she is a beautiful woman.

Love her collaborative effort with Mark Knopfler too.

D28guy, check your Pm's

Funny you should post this, I just finished watching the Townes Van Zandt celebration show Austin City Limits did and both of them are featured.

Thanks. I saw the clip with Nancy Griffith, Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff etc to the side of that and watched that...very cool rendition of Desperado's waiting for a train.

That's what I did and then ended up watching JJW videos for the past hour!

Always liked Emmylou, she makes it look so easy and she is so beautiful.

EmmyLou is wonderful. One of those singers that just makes anything she's involved with better by her being there ... don't think you could sound bad with her singing with you. Here's an old favorite collaboration of mine involving EmmyLou...
