So, I bought four tickets to the Raleigh show (10/11, I believe) last Friday during the general onsale. One for me, two for a couple of friends of mine, and I figured we would find a fourth at some point.

Turns out my friend was (literally) that same day receiving his acceptance letter to graduate school in Utah. UTAH!!! So, he and his wife definitely won't be making it to the show.

My initial inclination was to try and sell the tickets through the usual channels, but after seeing the groundswell of support for Skip and his wife, I've decided to seel them to someone here and donate the proceeds to the "Captain Fund." Seems like the thing to do. I could sure use the money, but I know he could use it even more, and this is one of those moments in life where I get to do the right thing.

Three tickets...Section 7, Row S, Seats 1-3. Not particularly close, but dead center, on the aisle, behind the board, and under the roof, in case of inclement weather. The sound should be spot on there.

Face value is $46, not sure what the Live Nation charges are. If you want to just pay for the tickets, that's fine, I'll eat the service fees. If you want to pay more than that, you have my word that 100% will go to Captain Skip and his wife.

We can work out the details as far as payment goes. I would imagine that Skip needs money now, but I'm thinkin' he'll still need it in October. So if you want or need to pay me at the show, that's fine.

There you have it. See a great show, and help out a fine, giving man and his wife in their time of need.

And...AND...you get to enjoy the Allman Brothers concert experience with The Great One. Everybody wins!

So, a very generous and giving member of the extended family (who wishes to remain anonymous) has volunteered to pay the service charges on the tickets, even though he isn't even going to the show!

Way to step up to the plate, anyonymous donor dude!

So now, a mere $46 per ticket will win you a dream evening with The Allman Brothers Band and GreatScott. And let me tell you, the band absolutely OWNS Walnut Creek! They've played there every year since the venue opened.

And there will undoubtedly be plenty of pre-show festivities with lots of HTW regulars.

Come on...you know you want it!

Hi, Scott. It seems we have some interest here. Would you like to provide a bit more detail on what you'd like to see, e.g., opening bid, how long the auction will last, etc?

Feel free to PM me if you'd like me to run this like the others.

Randy

Hi friends,

Sorry, I haven't been online in a couple of days. And I'm not sure what bumping means (well, I have an alternative definition, but I don't think that applies here...), and I don't really have any idea how to do an auction.

Basically, I would like for someone to buy the tickets and then either send the money directly to Skip's people, or else send it to me and I'll pass it along. As I said previously, someone else picked up the service charges and sent them off last week.

I have the tickets, and I certainly hope that whoever "buys" them will be going to the show with me!

Betty, check your private messages.

So, someone has stepped up to the plate and offered to pay well over face value for the Raleigh tickets. Seeing as I didn't originally start this out as an auction, any objections if I sort of close this thread and "sell" the tickets to one very generous Peachhead?

If we want to set it up as an auction, that's fine, but as I said, the person (who has asked not to be named) is putting up what I believe is a very generous amont of money in these tough economic times.

Thanks in advance.

Scott
