Here is article on the new concert CD by the Derek Trucks Band, "Already Live." What is cool about the live album, other than 40 minutes of great live music, is that it will only be available at indie record stores beginning on April 18th to give them a boost.

Check on the artists quotes for some good stories.

The main focus by Derek and the band is to get folks to the indie record stores, which hopefully is the route that folks go when buying it.

Exactly. Cool! I've lived and breathed by indie record stores for too many years to mention, where you can find music that isn't on a CD and maybe never will be, and music that you wouldn't think of buying had you not come across it while perusing the racks. Derek T's got the right idea here, without a doubt. Nothing against Amazon, but hopefully this will get some folks out and about. Good post, Lola.

Actually, from looking at the info I received from Derek's people, the vinyl EP is what will be "available exclusively at indie record stores."

Great article Derek, you did a nice job. One thing I can say about Derek, when it comes to the business end of things he is as sharp as a tack.

"The project was recorded over two nights last September in Missoula, Montana and Santa Barbara, California"

The Santa Barbara Ca. Show, was @ The Lobero Theater. I attended and taped this show...pretty cool.

Can't wait for this CD!
