I've only been to Red Rocks once and it was all reserved. I thought I read somewhere that ABB Red Rocks show are GA for the first 25 rows and reserved thereafter. Can anyone offer any insight? Are ABB show at RR always GA front? Have they ever been all reserved?
Thanks in advance.

Usually the ABB Red Rocks shows are GA for a few rows (last year was like 10 rows GA) then reserved (maybe rows 10 - 30) then GA again. Don't quote me on this row breakdown on the GA-Reserved-GA thing ... not remembering exactly where each begins. I do know that last year there were not as many GA rows in the front as in past years. Don't think there have been any totally reserved shows for ABB at Red Rocks (and I mean that both ways )

So are the first few GA rows a total clusterf*ck? Is it as many people as you can cram into those rows, or do you have breathing room? It seems like it has the potential to be a mess.

Last year was the first year they did a smaller number of GA seats from like row 3 to 11. The further back from like 40 and up. I wouldn't call it a cluster. I was up and around visiting people in various rows... 13-17 I believe. You can move around and some areas are a little more congested than others but I didn't find it horrible. It's like anywhere else. You never know who your neighbor will be at a show. Sometimes we get lucky and make new friends and other times we may not like it. You just never know.

Exactly right.
I've found that the GA crowd for ABB is pretty fun and respectful. A few other shows (String Cheese, Dead) is more of a free for all. Definitely have to do some serious line standing before the gates open to get down front. I much prefer reserved.

Neil,
The south side skews away from the stage (the side with the video screen) while the north side is more straight up. Since the seat numbers start on the south side it varies but here is a link to the seating chart (maybe someone else can actually print it).

I have not seen any info. I am going to check Denver radio stations to see if they have anything. I'll post if I find a pre-sale anywhere.

Jack's on it. I believe seat numbers in the 60's are dead center (DFC in taper lingo).

Seating update!!!!
I was setting up the page for buying ABB tickets thru my Ticketmaster account so I didn't have to log in Saturday, and I noticed the seating chart : General Admission is back to the old way Rows 2-25 General Admission Rows 2-25-Yay!
My seat recomendation is to try and stay in the bottom half of the amphitheater, so up to about row 35 there are(in my mind, lol) great seats in the middle of rows 26-35 or thereabouts. That is, unless you have to have reserved because you can't make it early or have someone save a seat for you, and then no seat is real bad there.

You always have to log in that way when it comes time to purchase you don't have to type all that info in.

BTW, if people are getting tickets on Sat thru TM for the reg sale, keep in mind that it's 10 AM Mountain time so that's 12 Noon Eastern time!

How else can one get tickets as there is no presale, or do you know something we don't Susea?

Thanks for the heads up on the seating and #s for center. I will be getting a reserved seat but then theres always the stairs if you want to be down front

No, I don't know something that you don't. Maybe there may be a pre sale tomorrow though. I would keep checking back just to be sure.

If you sign up as an interactive member on KBCO.com, you can pre-sale tickets on Friday @ 10 MDT. Once you are in it kicks you to Ticketbastard. Today they had a presale for Bonnie Raitt & Taj Mahal. Was able to get 5th row left center at 10:15. Expensive ticket and likely not near the demand that the Brothers will have. See you @ Jack & Phyliss's.

We'll be doing the GA since it is back to the first 25 rows, that way we can get a group together. But, remember, there is only a little difference in the reserved seats, so you could always order reserved so you have a definate seat and if you change your mind, you could still sit in GA if you get there on time.

I will. Since it is back to 25 rows, we don't have to go too early, so I'll still have time to stop at the Marriott on the way and do a little visiting. Which line do you do-right behind the stage and up the long flight of stairs?

So if you buy a reserved seat, you are still allowed into the GA section up front??

I would do the stairs behind the stage , I believe they are the east stairs. I am getting kind of lazy though, wont be there at 8 a.m like the good old days

Buy reserved and then hit the stairs if the motivation hits me and theres a few folks who will help out. One person cannot save a large area down front as it take at least 2 and 3 or 4 is preferred

I'd bet Alan/Absnj would be willing to help secure an area. He's been known to wait hours!

Hell, in years past I have been on the stairs as early as 7:30 in the morning , have a cooler of food and supplies and make an entire day of it, but not sure i am up for that anymore. The Stair people are always the same folks from year to year, its like a mini reunion sometimes. I have met some really kind folks on the stairs.

Is Alan coming as I would love to spend a few hours on the stairs and get to know him!

My wife has talked me into it, now I have to convince her, but it looks pretty good!! I can bring my oversized head, so we can double up on the contest you sponsored with your kids last year!!!
