Once highly organized. Now a train wreck

Gave up a while ago trying to organize/list my boots. Keep telling myself I need to re-org but it's too daunting a task...

My store bought CD's are in pretty good shape, organized by Artist/Sub-Artist/Release Date. However there a few boxes that need to be integrated into the "master" racks.

My niece just moved out on her own & is always looking for extra cash, I think I might hire her to clean up this mess

My vinyl collection is picture perfect but the CD's are just thrown into a cabinet. Annoying little things they are. I'm tryng to eliminate them and go digital. Love my mp3 player and change the music on it often through Rhapsody

Hmmm...Let's see...

LP collection...obesessively anal. Filed alphabetically first, then chronologically by release date. In LP size peach crates

Commercial CDs -Filed up to N at one point. Never finished. All in "real" wood peach crates obtained from the local supermarket when I worked there in college. I got a bunch and pulled them out of storage as my collection grew. But now I have plenty of A to N stuff mixed in with the unsorted stuff.

CD-Rs and Live Shows- Stored in Staples cardboard boxes...all in jewel cases for protection.

I'm obsessive about keeping my CDs protected in cases, but I'm so behind on labeling my cases now that it would probably take an entire vacation to catch them up. each one has the name and title on a slip of paper, inserted on top but many have no side labels.

So I'd have to say: LPs are all properly filed ...all CDs are a disorganized but properly protected mess...

Also, as many of my CDs are not filed alphabetically, finding that one album or show that I want to listen to is an adventure to say the least...

What's an El Pee?

CD's are crazy disorganized...but the iPod is Playlist perfect.

About two-thirds of the way through putting the commercial cd's on (about 8,000 songs at this point), then the traded stuff.

Backed up on an external drive. When I'm done I may never touch a CD again.

Mine are orginized by genre; 60s head bands and 70's. Not much from the 80s but the the band are al are grouped together. Ie; ABB, Wishbone Ash Santana and so on.
