THE THREE WEEKS OF MOOGIS
by Clement Clarke Moore
or Henry Livingston

It was the first night of Moogis, and all through the house
My tweeters were tweeting, the bass was pronounced

My hopes were hung out, my wife gave me a stare
Beause I was focused. and the band soon would be there

My kids were all listening to juvenile fare
While visions of rappers made me aware

That for 21 days I’d listen alone
Cause there were no brothers fans with me in my home

Then sounds from my speakers started to cry
As the first Little Martha brought tears to my eye

And as the night moved on I soon was aware
That both Taj and Levon were filling the air

The next night turned Winter, some missteps in turn
But Johnny’s guitar still really can burn

On the first Thursday the blues hit the sky
And right next to Derek was one Buddy guy

On Friday came Boz, please lend me a dime
The mix with the horns was really sublime

And Saturday night took us to a new world
As Brecker and Clarke’s jazz magic unfurled

The next show saw Bonnie, Becka and our own Susan T.
And some perverts posted they’d sandwich all three

Then controversy started for the next show
Mostly concerning the guesting of one Sheryl Crow

Then came a guest awaited ten years
An appearance by Clapton brought peacheads to tears

There stood Warren and Derek and Eric indeed
And who thought they’d jam on Elizabeth Reed?

A letdown was certain the next night on the stage
A lot of fine guests, but not quite on the same page

Monday was magic, Kingpin Soul Funk filled the air
Followed by a real knock-out J Herring Les Brers

Tuesday the Ace showed, and also some others
A pretty good show but not enough of the Brothers

Then Thursday just Brothers up on the main stage
As they blew through “Beginnings” with Fillmorian rage

Whether you hated or loved it admit now your shock
When the next night they brought to The Beacon Kid Rock

The last night was acid, with Chuck and the dead
And a psychedelic MJ to put us to bed

So now it’s all over, just what will we do?
But replay our Moogis from ten until two

The Brothers turned 40, of this we are sure
And we hope that they drive it for many years more

correct. actively working. Had back surgery five years ago and had to switch from tennis to swimming. Nothing is more boring than those repeated lapes accross the pool; plenty of time for obsessive rantings

Yeah it's probably a good thing that this run is over.
