Does anyone know just how bad Jaimo's hand injury is? It looks like he is not very comfortable & it must be difficult to cover the drums in a band like the ABB w/o being close to 100%

I don't know anything specific, but it looks to me like he's wearing a smaller wrap than he was at the start of the run, so that looks like a good sign.

He had his drum tech sit in for a few numbers early in the run but he's been on every night since, so I'm guessing he's feeling better. Or at least, I'm hoping so.

He might be feeling better but it doesn't seem like he's playing much unfortunately...

He's playing A LOT. He just doesn't look like he is. If you listen, you can clearly hear what he's doing. And he's pretty amazing. Unfortunately, I feel the drum mix has been a little inconsistant, sometime he and/or Jaimoe (and Marc) are too quiet or unbalanced.

Jaimoe's playing, though subtle, is ESSENTIAL to the overall sound. There is a big dfference when he sits out or doesn't play. And though some people sitting in on his kit do a great job, most of the time, there is even something lacking when there's someone replacing him.

You're so right on all counts -
the first time I had a loge seat where I could really watch Jaimoe I thought maybe he was on a different planet entirely - couldn't tell where what I saw was fitting in with what I heard. I later listened to a board of that show and realized how subtle but integral those lines were. (Maybe the mix in the house was low for him that night) Jaimoe's got that swinging jazzy touch that you don't always hear clearly until you miss it when it's not there. Here's hoping he's healing and here's sending good vibes his way!
