seems like the guests are playing at least one of their own songs each night. what is your guess for phil and bob?
I think The Other One would be pretty cool to hear with the brothers.

realistically:

sugaree
i know your rider
same thing

unlikely: I would love to see a dark star, or a terrapin.

I could definitely see those songs, possibly a Lovelight. Terrapin would be really cool. I am a huge dead fan but I have never really liked a long drawn out Dark Star unless it really jams.

I think The Other One is a good guess/choice. Also suspect Franklin's but probably a 'bobby tune' is more likely.

Yeah I agree, I'm thinking the first song they do will be something where Bob sings. Maybe Little Red Rooster

You would think they would absolutely do the Other One, but you never know.
Another good bet obviously I Know You Rider as well.
Same Thing is slow enough for Bobby. Woodstk699 nailed it with Sugaree i think they could do it.
Who knows? Should be a good one though.Seeya in there!

No way your all wrong, I can see a half step or shake down. Warren shines on these tunes and maybe even a casey jones.

The Brothers and the Dead used to jam all the time in the Fillmore East and in particular Greg and Pigpen used to sing 'Turn on your Lovelight'. I would like to hear that

I'm on this bus! But I do think Dark Star will be reserved for MSG in April. Sugar Mags is just not ABB material, but I sure have been pleasantly surprised withtheir range this run so you never know. My vote is:
Smokestack Lightning Franklin's Tower>Blue Sky>Know You Rider. Encore=Lovelight

i agree.. i only like the early dark stars. like pre 70 or 71 maybe? they seemed to loose their drive and direction later on. my fav version is at the Carousel Ballroom... DS>China Cat>Eleven

Lovelight would be a fitting tribute to Duane since both bands did this song together on stage during one or two shows in '70. Gregg smoked the vocals. That would be way cool.

The Brothers did St Stephen in '95 a few times after Jerry died I guess as some sort of tribute.

Of course Blue Sky had the Franklin's intro for quite a few years through the late '90's. And then you have Oteil singing a full version of it every now and again currently.

Other one and bird song would be awesome

How about Terrapin Station, Samson and Delilah or Deal

or something obscure like Greatest Story Ever told.

At Summerfest in Milwaukee back on 6-28-02, the ABB opened and P & F closed. At the end the Warren, Gregg and Derek, I think, came out did Lovelight with Gregg on vocals. It was pretty cool.

Warren played probably the best version of Stella blue I have heard on the acoustic Bonnaroo disc he put out. That would be nice if he belted that one out again... Might be kind of slow for the show tho.

it would nice if you folks got the help on the way>slipknot>franklin's tower
trilogy. warren surely knows that backwards but the changes in slipknot might be
tough to wrangle without serious rehearsals. that being said lovelight, eleven, rider,
sugaree, spansih jam and franklins are probably all in the running along with the same thing and any blues oriented dead song.
whatever goes down should be sweet.
enjoy!

Bob "sang" Franklins Tower when Rat Dog joined ABB at Red Rocks last September. To be honest, his singing was downright embarrassing. Oteil took half the verses and sounded waaay better. After Rat Dog left, they did Melissa then Black Hearted Woman with the full Other One outro and Bobby was no where to be seen. I really don't think he could keep up with the tempo the Bros do it at. Of course they could just turn his guitar down all the way)

But if this Beacon run is the true celebration of Duane, then see 2/11/70
