I do not want to "beat a dead horse" here, but can someone explain to me the circumstances leading to Dickey's firing. I've heard so many rumors. I read one newspaper journalist who stated that "Betts was taking too many chances off stage and not enough on it." I've read Gregg's comments about a dark cloud being lifted and the action against Dickey saving the band.

Would someone mind setting the record, and me, straight on this issue?

Thanks,
TG

From all I've read, Dickey was "borrowing" Gregg's shampoo, and never returning it ....

A dark cloud was indeed lifted ....

Other stories may vary, but that's the nuts and bolts of it ....

Hey TG !

If you will do some searching in the forums..such as the "whipping post" section...you will find what you seek. Such as the "Get Dickey back in the Band" thread.

There is every possible opinion and scenario in that thread....

You may have to go back a few post...but it's there...believe me.

It's been discussed so much...that some folks here tend to go "nutso" when it's mentioned..LOL...err....Cliff...LoL !

Really..there is so many threads..that starting it all over again would be a waste.....

and none of the above was meant to be sarcastic my friend.....

If I can find that thread I will bring it up for ya........

Keep your eyes open......

I certainly do not want the responsibility for affecting folks mental health ( a pre-emptive apology to Cliff ). I know that it's a sensitve topic with a lot of differing opinions. But i am relatively new here I just wanted a clear understanding/foundation.

As always, I appreciate your thoughts. I will, indeed, keep my eyes open for the post link.

Best,
TG

Plus Dickey never liked the same shampoo as Gregg......

Dickey was a Prell man.......

Gregg liked the shine and styling he got with Pert Plus......

I think it had more to do with Dickey constantly changing the TV channell when they were on the road....Gregg always hated that...especially when Gregg was watching "Emeril Live" and Dickey would want to watch "B.J. and the Bear" reruns.

Thats my take on it.......

That's one of the issues with electronic communication you can't see the facial expressions or body language. I knew you were kidding and during my pre-emptive apology bit , my tongue was planted firmly in my cheek.

Yes the demented always know where to find other demented folks.......

OldCoot, Old_Time_Fan and OldABBFan are not old at all...none of the 3 are over 30...so they should be stricken from any future consideration.....

But me...you folks know that OldDirt would never lie.....

He's the kind of dude that will help you when your car breaks down....he will give you a ride....you may not ever be seen again..but he will give you a ride.

I like that Dirt guy ...so does his Mama !

You sneaky no good (vote for me) lowlifes. Old ABBfan, Old Time Fan and Oldye Dirtye Roade, shame, shame, shame. Coming to (vote for me) a completely unrelated (vote old coot) topic and begging for votes (vote old coot in '03). You won't catch me (old coot rules) pulling that kind of crap! Maybe the subliminal message tactic (old coot for oldster of the year), but not the "slip a few posts in all over the place" campaign. I (old coot=winner) just won't stand (up and make your vote count, vote old coot) for it! Sit in front of the computer for it maybe, but I won't stand for it.

Shameful.

Well, one thing's for sure: TG has to go look it up. Look at what he gets when he asks for the info?

Not sure why, but they replaced Dickey with Gregg's son, Derek.
