i was at the 19th and 20th shows. After the 19th show, my friends and I went to the Amsterdam Ale House, just around the corner. We arrived and were seated in the back room. The place wasnt too packed. All of a sudden Derek, Susan, and her parents walk in. The whole back room gives them a nice little welcome. They get seated at the table kittycorner to us. they say hi to us and some small talk (I have a friend who is a very close friend of theirs). So we send a round of drinks over to their table, we both eat. They come as they are leaving, to thank us and chat for a couple minutes.
What a great way to top off a show like Thursdays show!
PS. He was there last friday night afterwards also. so if maybe someone wants to meet him, chances are he'll be there at least once more before the run is over.
Just thought I would share that .02.

How much did you expect to pay for a double shot drink (usually $7 for a single) plus Red Bull, which most bars usually retail for $4 - 5 a can?

Welcome to NY.

Great story about the Ale House...

But I DO miss Yogi's...I wonder what happened to The Bear?

Sigh...
If I'd a known it was being torn down, I would have put a bid in for the bear for my sister for a B'day present.
She put a smile on his face one year, during an encore after dancing on the bar.

Welcome to NY.

Its this kind of talk that deters people from traveling to "expensive" locations like NYC. Fact is, there are LOTS of inexpensive places to eat and drink in NYC. You just have to know where to go. The internets are an amazing resource. Do some research and save $$.
Try The Gin Mill on 81st and Amsterdam.
