You create an account to make that one inane comment?

Hopefully now you'll go away.

If you're really that upset, here's what you do:

1) Get a band
2) Get to the point where you're so successful and so influential that essentially anyone you invite to the stage will come
3) Sell out the Beacon
4) Don't invite Susan Tedeschi

However, please do us the favor of telling us where she'll be so we can go see her instead of you.

Until then, take a hike.

Read last nights play by play and let's cut this short. Been there, done that, bury it next to Elizabeth Reed

I agree... at this point i would not consider her a special guest. Maybe it is just because i am from Boston which is also where she went to college, but this woman is following me at every brother show i go to. She has literally played on stage with them every time i have gone for the last four years. I went last night and monday night and both nights she was there. Granted she only came out for one song on Monday night. Last night has far too much Susan T.
I think this all stems from a DTB show i went to three years ago where DTB was the headliner and for some strange reason they decided to make Susan the headlining slot making me miss the entire DTB set...
I think susan is a great musician and i understand she is married to Derek but that doesn't make her part of the band.
With that said i was a little upset she was one of the guests last night.

not everyone is clapton, that is true, and i did not see last weeks show.

BUT,

i've enjoyed susan everytime i've ever seen her with abb, and she has always only done a short set.
she's a "must see" for me now when she and her band come to my area, and i think she's a better fit with the band than a lot the other guests i've seen at the beacon. and she's perttier too.

Yes Chuck. I did set this up to make that inane, or TRUE comment. I felt I needed to write what everyone else was thinking but too afraid to post. I have a band and you can put money on the fact I would not invite her. I could be married to Sheryl Crow and I would not let her step on stage with me. And hwat was with the librarian look last night?

I disagree, when she is on stage for six songs out of a 15 song set that is not a "short set."
I like susan the first one or two times she came on stage, in fact really enjoyed it. However, at this point I am just saying I would prefer to not have her come out.
In regards to guests, i know not everyone is clapton and I loved Bruce Hornsby contributions last night but i personally would rather have no guest at all and just see the brothers play.

Making a true statement would imply you have a fact to offer. You don't. You created an account to offer your opinion - which may be shared by some, sure - in a very rude fashion. Your only purpose was to insult someone held in high regard by the band that invited her to their stage as well as many of their shared fans.

You've stated your opinion - you've made no TRUE statements.

here's the way i view it after a good evening of sleep.
if you want derek, susan is part of that package. no matter
how you look at it, that is a good deal.
susan provides some variety, even though none is
specifically needed this Beacon run.
it gives a break to warren and gregg on the
vocals over a long 15 date gig.
she is typically very good and actually
understated when performing with the Bros,
although a little went a long way last night.
the drama onstage re: southside johnny detracted
from the vibe they had going. johnny made a mistake,
no biggy, it's improv, it's live and there is a lot of music
being made on that stage, guests are excited about
being on stage with legends, $hit happens? let it go,
he said he was sorry, move on. i just didn't care for her
body language and whatever she was saying to derek
or johnny when the whole thing was over.
i still love her and have seen her many times and will
go see her again when she is close.

Bruce Hornsby is the man and those horns were sick. Trey and Page were incredible. Buddy Guy wailed. Stanley Clarke has faster fingers than a cheetah. Bonnie Branlett has got some crazy pipes, along with her daughter. Clapton was, well, Clapton. All AMAZING special guests. The key word there is special guests.

When you take into account how many songs have been played this run already, I bet you that Susan has actually been on stage less than 5% of the time, if that. Yoko? I think not. No music fan in their right mind could think that. Susan is a pro and a welcome addition anytime on stage. He backing vocals on "Anyday" are spot on perfection.

So you are telling me if Susan wasn't married to Derek then she would be Butch, Gregg and Jaimoe choice of a special guest nightly? would they still have her on stage all of the time? I think her appearances are not really up to those three anymore....

I think the BeesKnees post is a little strong but in general I agree she needs to be backstage with the other wives.

I agree that she both overstayed her welcome last night and slowed down the tempo of that set. Also, they looked they were tripping over each other on stage with the ABB, the five Jukes horn players, SSide Johnny and Susan. She definitely added a vocal dimension with Clapton on Anyday, but last night was excessive. I enjoy her soulful vocals but she needs to leave her guitar at home. Her soloing was borderline beginner.

All in all, she really only played two of her own songs, which weren't that interesting for me, I thought "Little by Little" and "Lost Lover Blues" were pretty generic tunes but I enjoyed them. She and the Allmans have covered "Don't Think Twice" a zillion times over the last 6 years, so I practically consider that part of the Allmans' catalog. I thought she was great on "Stand Back" and "Grandma's Hands" was kind of a cool song - I assume that's a Bruce tune? I agree, she's not a great guitarist, and I understand when you happen to draw the same guest over and over it can be frustrating - be glad you saw Clapton, I missed both nights dag nabit - but Yoko Ono she is not.

yeah i just can't ignore this post. That is insane to compare Susan Tedeschi to Yoko Ono. Yoko attached herself to John's side and never left. The rest of the band didn't want her there and she thought John was better than the rest of the Beatles and was very disdainful of the rest of the band. Not only did she make no significant contributions to the Beatles' music (aside from claiming that she inspired several of their songs...), she drew John away from them and alienated the band. Won't go so far as to say that she broke up the Beatles because that's not entirely true, but she certainly didn't help.

Susan T couldn't be more different than Yoko. As someone mentioned above, the fact of the matter is that if you want Derek you get Susan as well. And that's not a bad thing! First of all, she does not attach herself to Derek the way that Yoko did to John - not even close. She's a talented and well respected musician in her own right. The rest of the Allman Brothers clearly enjoy playing with Susan and welcome her company. In the end, it doesn't matter what we think, because the band enjoys playing with her and they allow us to watch that enjoyment feed itself into great and inspired music. People on this site absolutely loved when Bonnie and Bekka and Susan all came out and played together. They truly were the women of the Allman Brothers Band. It was fantastic! She gets it. She has no interest in drawing Derek away from the Allman Brothers and supports him in all ventures - whether playing long tours with the Allmans or going overseas for a year with Clapton. And she stays home with the kids and puts her own career on hold! Derek has mentioned in interviews that fair is fair and a time will probably come when he stays at home for a bit and works in his new home studio while she goes back out to promote her own band. If that's a Yoko effect, then god help any talented husband-wife team.

No offense but that night with Bonnie was a lot different than last night. She came out for one song that absolutely wailed while the band was on fire. Last night she came out for six and most of those tunes totally slowed down the momentum. I was there and lets just say there were a lot of bathroom breaks when she came out...
I know its really up to the band, but I feel strongly that the fans are not really seeing a ABB show with her constantly coming out. Like i said once in a while is fine but she comes out all of the time!
When there is so much mystery in the air about who the guest is and then Susan T walks out that is beyond a let down... especially after two nights with clapton, a night with Boz, Trey Buddy guy etc etc etc.
