oncoming traffic - Bonnie and Greg. Probably the most soulful piece of music that i have ever heard live in my entire life.

IMOER on 3/14. Incredible diversion into Jazz/Rock fusion not seen since the glory days of John McLaughlin, Miles Davis, etc. Peyote sales rose 200% that night. What planet were we on? How many different coats can these guys wear?

I'm gonna have to go with the one two punch of "In A Silent Way > Liz Reed"

Just an amazing 40 minutes of music...pure bliss

so far it's been all Moogis for me-until tonight.

But through the first 7 shows, I'd also go with the 1-2 punch of In A Silent Way>Elizabeth Reed. That was a jaw-dropper.

Loved In Memory of E. Reed with Trey and Page, BUT my #1 vote goes to the energy the "Ladies" brought to the stage with The Weight!! Thank you Bonnie and Bekka Bramlett, and Susan Tedeschi!!!!!

I'm not on Moogis , so I can only go with what I saw on 3-16 and I have to go with "The Weight" I thought Bonnie , Bekka & Susan did a great job with it. Do I get another vote for 3-24 when I go again ?

I am really digging several songs on this run. walk on guilded splinters is great, and i am loving warrens version of who's been talking. i know they are both regular rotation songs, but they have been great. I have been blown away by the new instrumental though.. just simply incredible.

i dont think the music is as good with guests, but thats just me. it reminds me of a bob dylan tribute concert where everyones playing guitar and everyones singing and the music sounds trite. now.. dont get me wrong, this is not that bad. the music is still very very good, and many moments have caused me to get a lil misty eyed.

musically, the shows are best when its just the brothers. only once have i really felt that the guest added, and thats when the brammlets sang back up on commin home.

my vote goes to the new instrumental. if i had to pick a night i woudl say the 17th.

One song??...you are killing me ....I was at the 3/17 show ...it just kept getting better and better....if i can not nominate the whole show I'll go with The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down ...it was a highlight of my 1st ever Beacon show in 04 and to hear ir again really brought a (bigger) smile to my face

In A Silent Way for sure........

I was there and up close for shows 3,4,5,6.

as others have pointed out E-Reed was outstanding but the tension and harmonics of In A Silent Way was just superb.

also know there was some strong drumming going on as that song progressed...........Butch did not want to have Lenny White go too far and Lenny was pushing.........Lenny came to play not just be a guest.

and I love Miles...........

I also think Derek's new intsrumental has massive "Milestones"..........which is also a great great song.

Little Martha first night I felt just watching it on Moogis was moving for me so I couldnt imagine being there but 2 runners up:

"In A Silent Way > Liz Reed"

"Only You Know And I Know" w/Bonnie and Becca Bramlett was awesome, I felt like the Brothers kind of reinvented it (as usual) but it is just a great tune in general

The beacon run is still a puppy . . .

With that said - some of better guest inspired covers have been . . .

Oncoming Traffic - w/ Bonnie
The Sky is Crying - w/ Buddy
Loan Me a Dime' W/ Boz

I think The Beacon Box that Kirk has mentioned should have a DVD of the 40th Anniversary show on the 26th and then two cd's: One of select cuts of pure ABB song from the run - and then a second cd of the more memorable songs donw with spcial guest i ntribute to Duane (the three above are a good start for this cd).

Thats a good idea...I'd buy that

I kind of hope they go in this direction and not the full blown run. That'll be a little pricey. Especially since alot of us are gonna have the AUD's of the whole run on disc anyway.
