Gregg's voice sounded so strong and Bonnie was 100% in the moment, Mama green eyed blues speading the love. I thought that that was one of the best performances of the run so far.

Sometimes she tells the story of when they got the news on Twiggs.
As I remember it, they were at a hotel in Nashville, atrium. Three AM or something.
Gregg wandered into the lobby, which had a piano, started playing. Bonnie came out of her room, many floors up. They began singing Oncoming Traffic to each other.

Told to me on a park bench in Gadsden. One on one.

Well I sure did feel it. I normally don't get emotional over music in that way. Multicolored Lady has done it to me one or twice, but I was half in the bag at the time. I wasn't even drinking last night and I got choked up.

i got a little teary eyed as well - very special stuff if you knew all the history their. Couldnt help but think about that story in the atlanta Hyatt the night Twiggs passed - and of course brother Duane. . .. keeping in mind that Duane was trying to avoid an 'oncoming' tractor trailer when he got into his accident.

"Oncoming Traffic" was a very fitting trribute indeed.

Theirs has been plenty of shredding and drumming - but that was one of the more tender moments of this year tribute beacon run and i'll never forget it.

Unfortunately, many in the Orch had no idea what was going on and just talked straight through the song, I walked up the aisle as far as I could, and it was better. Man, there was some strong emotions onstage during this song, Gregg's keys were perfect, they clearly enjoyed themselves. Later on, Butchie was grinning from ear to ear after The Weight, they loved having Bonnie with them, and so did we.

There was a lot of emotion during this duo. We all felt it...

This was definitely a special moment of the night. I just love when Gregg sings just with the piano and to be accompanied by Bonnie.

He did so much of that back in the day.

I so agree.... I believe Gregg was having a real moment with a dear old friend. I love Bonnie, and both of them simply aced it. Just in case anyone is interested in war stories or reading about her latest wonderful Sandlin produced CD, here's a link to our latest Bonnie interview from last year...
