I've heard a few 38 Special songs on the radio on occasion but still not familiar with their catalog as a whole.

Can any fans recommend the best albums and tracks from this band?

What are their most popular songs which I hear on the radio (but don't know the names of)??

The "Live at Sturgis" cd has pretty much all of the hits. Not sure if they're still in print but I like the 1st two albums "38 Special" and "Special Delivery" which feature Donnie Van Zant more than Don Barnes on vocals. Barnes sings all of the big hits.

<edit>

Can't remember & don't have the albums or my album guide handy, Barnes may not have been in the band for the 1st two.

Their best in mho...

I gotta say, I actually like some 38 Special stuff. Definitely on the cheesy side, but, for what they are, they put out a few very catchy pop rock tunes that I like, especially Hold on Loosely and Rockin' into the Night. I also think the "90s?" era hit with a short-lived interim singer, I think its called "Second Chance" is a good soft-rock tune.

I had the albums Special Delivery, Wild Eyed Southern Boys, Rockin' Into the Night, Special Forces
and Tour de Force and liked 'em all, but ESPECIALLY Wild Eyed and Special Forces. Their most
popular tunes were Rockin Into The Night, Hold On Loosely, Caught Up in You, Second Chance,
If I'd Been the One, Back Where You Belong and Teacher (from the Movie Teachers).

your best bet is to get the 2 disc anthology that covers every album they released up until 2000. has all of the hits and some b-sides and album tracks
