There seemed to be some of that on the stage last night. Started a bit late, Long chats between many songs, long break between sets.
That being said was my favorite show to watch on Moogis so far (I went Thursday).
Wonder why Stanley Clarke only played on the one song, maybe he was late? Did anyone notice Warren did a little "School Days" riff?

Robert Randolf was great too although a bit restrained. I have seen him really pound that steel.

Although there were several songs replayed from earlier shows they are mostly replayed very differently. Like Liz Reed which blew away the version I heard live Thursday night. Clarke, Brecker and White where awesome.

Amazing how they can pull all those elements together on the fly and make it work so perfectly.

Great Encore. Great Show Thank you Butch for Moogis best $100.00 I have spent in a while.

I agree that things didn't feel as smooth given the late start, chats between, and long intermission. Jaimoe also disappeared for most of the second half...I know there were drum guests, but still...

I also expected Randolph to be on for three songs and open it up a bit more given his ability and the trends with guests so far. Stanly Clark's appearance did seem brief as well. Maybe some of the guests were late getting there or whatever, and that impacted these issues above.

A good show none the less, however not as good as Thursday or Friday in my mind. Friday still takes the cake, although I've yet to see Monday's in fairness.

By the way, as far as Dazed and Confused, I knew that was a huge rockin' surprise when they broke it out at the Beacon a couple of years ago and Warren can do a solid cover of just about anything from my point of view, but it still seems an odd choice to me for an ABB show....

But hey, I'm not complaining (qualifier for the "all is perfect" crowd), loved Zep as early as any band I've listened to, and I'll enjoy whatever the ABB wants to roll out.

STANLEY CLARKE CAME STRAIGHT FROM A GIG AT IMAC IN HUNTINGTON. I HAD DINNER RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD FROM IT LAST NIGHT. SHOULD HAVE OFFERED TO DRIVE HIM SO I COULD HAVE SEEN IMOER AND MOUNTAIN JAM, MY WIFE AND FRIENDS COULD HAVE TAKEN A CAB!

No confusion at all on stage last night - don't know where this misconception is coming from. I was very close to the stage all night long last night and I could see very well. The talking between songs was necessary conversation and communication about what was going to be played....Jams, guests, solos, format etc etc. There was lots happening on stage...and off. It was a brilliantly played show start to finish...Epic is the word I used to describe last nights musical celebration. Simply amazing!

I am working on my full review of the show from last night and will post it in the 3/14/09 show thread in a little bit.

Peace

I think the long breaks may have been to buy time for Stanley Clarke's arrival. By far the latest ending of any of the shows

Dazed and Confused was a pretty random choice unless it is a sign of guests to come..with the Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones rumors. The Brothers wouldn't jack with us a little now, would they????

I believe they have played Dazed and Confused in the middle of Mountain Jam a few times before.

They've played Dazed multiple times before within Mountain Jam - first at the Beacon in 07 and most recently at Christmas Jam with John Paul Jones on bass (and I was lucky enough to be at both of those shows).

I like that they did it as an encore - must've been a heck of an encore!

It sure was a perfect end to an amazing show

Of course they would and did, Gregg even started Revival singing "People can you HEAR it" when he knows damn well the first line is "people can you FEEL it", he's just messin' with us....

Quick lesson: look under the Forum FAQ: http://www.allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&am p;file=misc&action=faq

Or see below. I added an extra space before the ] bracket just for demonstration purposes. In reality, you would NOT have an extra space there.

[b ]Text here[/b ] Text here (Bold Text)

[i ]Text here[/i ] Text here (Italicized Text)

[u ]Text here[/u ] Text here (Underlined Text)

I believe that Dazed and Confused was picked as a cover because it is teased during the Mountain Jam on the Live at Ludlow Garage CD. I think it is a little more than 20 minutes into the song. That is one of my favorite versions of Mountain Jam on a side note.

Eddie P Quote:"There was lots happening on stage". Isn't that kinda the definition of confusion? From my front row seat on Moogis the show although fantastic did have some longer than normal breaks between songs. At one point the Moogis camera had a shot of Marc asking what the next song was. Then the song started and he wasn't even ready to play.
They clearly deviated from the setlist last night. Its all good baby the show rocked..

That was pretty funny...he had a look of sudden terror and then jumped right in without missing a beat...

What a run so far...simply awesome!

Moogis definately gives us an up-close view of the cues and mis-cues on stage. These things are probably normal but go unnoticed by the crowd. We get a voyeuristic view of the inner workings of the band, kind of like sneaking into the huddle of a team during a football game.

Bob1954 you are right on the mark I am sure. The alternative is something like the Neil Young/ Wilco shows I saw at MSG a few months ago. I am a huge Neil fan and what a shock when I realized he plays the same show every night on the tour. I know many bands do this but never thought someone like Neil Young would.
The Brothers bring it every night and we are really lucky that Butch is giving us this look under the covers.

Think I will review Thursdays show tonight....
