Now with some shows under the belt , have the Yogites found new place to hang? I'm coming at the end of the end of the run would like know where to head before the show.I know finding a place of Yogi's high standards won't be easy. Hopefully the Bear bar will have a new location for next year so will have to rough it up for one run.

Please post opinions of the local watering holes.

Thanks
Steve

The Amsterdam Inn on 74th and Amsterdam located on the corner. Very crowded so try an dget there early but cranking Allmans tunes all night. All people talked about Thursday was the closing of Yogi's. In fact the whole building that Yogi's was a part of is gone. They knocked it down.

Early no problem, used to that. If you didn't get to Yogi's early you needed a shoe horn to squeeze in.

Bad news! The "Amsterdam Inn" is at the locale of the former Westide Brewery. The place is now a dump (even more so than before) and the food is absolutely unedible. Probably ok for a drink but the Westide Brewery was at least edible.

My recommendation is to keep the search going...

Yogi's was fun, but a bigger loss is the closing of the P&G, IMO. It had been open every day since the 1940s. Not as wild (or crammed) as the bear bar, but a great hang-out, before and after the show. It def was a 1-2 punch to lose both.

Tim

AMEN!! Two of my favorite bars - Wen to the P&G before knew about Yogi's . . . but no matter how much we went to Yogi, me and Terri would hit the P&G for at least one every run . . . Gonna really miss it!!

Amsterdam Pub, formerly Westside Brewery has at least some decent beer. Micro brewery brews. Nice not to have to drink that "Lite" gassy **** like you get in the Beacon.

I enjoyed hanging with Dave at the Amsterdam Inn, but in all honesty, it gets way too crowded. I was there Saturday night and it was just nuts...hubby put his beer down for a second and it was gone, then we paid with a credit card and the waiter brought the bill without the credit card....asked him where the **** is the credit card...he said oooh ....let me go check.....he did come back with the credit card but that was not cool.......Hubby was not happy about that..... Left me with a bad feeling .........

The food and waiter service at Yogi's was great. I forgot.

I am heading over to the AI in 15 minutes. Been there every night so far. Bar is crowded, but wasn't Yogi's. It is right next to the Beacon, ABB cranking on the Jukebox. 99% of the crowd is going to the show. What more do you need?
