Looks like some of the scalpers are getting their due. Some Stubhub tickets for tonight are going for less than face value.

Just remember that Stub hub comes out ahead no matter what the selling price- individuals put up their tix and StubHub sells them. If the tix are sold below face, the sellers take the higt, but StubHub still gets their commission.

Don't feel bad at all if brokers/scalpers are now having to unload for cheap the tix they've been sitting on and trying to sell for over face. Especially after hearing about FANS (like me ) having so much trouble getting tickets in pre-sale and general sales. I'm flying from Middle Earth to be able to do Beacon and with that kind of planning and cost it's necessary for me to actually have a ticket before stepping on the plane. If it wasn't for the kindness of someone here who had spares I would not be making the trip this year because of lack of availability of tickets. I'm guessing there are quite a few others here with similar story.

They usually work out a deal with the venue by buying in bulk. Example would be ten tickets in the first five rows, plus 50 tickets 5-20 rows back for ~20% below face value and no service charges. This is just an example, but I have been told these things happen. They get most of there money for the first five rows and the next sets are icing on the cake. It's kind of a win-win for the venue and sometimes the scalper losses.

Yeah, let the scalpers eat paper!

Maybe New York City itself will one day take up arms against scalpers.

I hear all these reports about tickets going for low-dollar outside the theater at show time. Sounds good, but who is the real loser here? The answer is New York City.

All these "last minute cut-rate ticket deals" are only going to be used by folks ALREADY in NYC. Had I (and others who got blanked) been able to legitimately BUY tickets - think of the economic impact for the city! Hotels, restaurants, museums and attractions - the list of businesses who suffer is endless. And what about the airlines? Think of all the fares that were lost when folks realized that there was no way to get tickets.

Congratulations to all who got tickets at the sidewalk sale!

Is that the same guy from MSG who keeps reporting sell-outs at all of those Knicks games with the oceans of empty seats?

You could even have brought some Confederate dollars, which these days are worth more than the Yankee ones..

I heard a rumour that N-Synch was going to be a special guest on Thurs night. They used to hang with Duane and introduced him to the Electric Slide. Can you confirm?

I find it ironic that while seats are being had for less than face somebody is trying to sell upper balcony seats for over face in the spare tickets section (again - same person).

The ticket sale business is a mess. I got ripped off by TicketsNow in the Dave Matthews Band sale. It's my own fault I didn't have to agree, but didn't want to get left out. But just like the Springsteen "scandal" I was routed right over to Ticketmaster's legal scalper TicketsNow after tickets had been on sale for just 10 minutes. With 14 nights of ABB shows it seems like we could all get to go when we want to, and for a reasonable rate, but there will always be the greed factor at play. I just hope the musicians get paid well for what they do.

Actually, N'Synch was scheduled to appear but then they -FINALLY- were able to get Cher to commit so they sent those guys back to the Disney channel.

BTW - it looks like my cell will not arrive in time for the weekend so email me you #.
