Whatever happened to the Frogwings label that Butch was trying to start? Now he is taking the Allman Brothers brand into another business venture, Moogis. CD sales and concert revenue must not be enough for Butch. First off, how the hell could a "virtual front-row seat" be a satisfying experience? That's like saying "virtual sex" would enjoyable. Watching the internet stream would just piss me off for the fact that I wasn't able to make the trip to the Beacon. Secondly, why make money off it? All tried and true ABB fans want to be there and didn't have the funds to make the trip. Oh wait, Butch figured how to make money off them too. The bottom statements are taken from the Moogis and sound so cheesy it makes me sick.

"Moogis subscribers will have a virtual front-row seat for all the dancing in the aisles, radiant light displays,..."

"All for less than the cost of a front row ticket to one Beacon Run show, only $125."

Butch, stick to Rock 'n Roll and stay away from the Tony Robbins seminar.

First you say Moogis would not be satisfying, then you complain it costs money. So which is it, do you not like the concept, or are you just a cheapskate?

Dear Mr. Brock,

No, it wouldn't be satisfying and I don't care what it costs. I don't like the concept of trying to cash in on people that are not at the show. Watching a computer screen of a live concert sounds about as much fun as a fart in a space suit. It's not about being a cheapskate, its about being a loyal fan who has traveled all over these great states to shows and feeling that Butch Trucks is a sell-out trying to make money off of the ABB brand. Seriously, what happened to the Frogwings label he was touting when they kicked Dickey out of the band in 2000. If I remember right, Butch promised big things from Frogwings and nothing ever materialized.

Bottom line, stick to Rock 'n Roll and stay away from advertising. The fans love the Allmans for their music. Not their brand.

Pms - maybe I'll see you next Thursday at the Beacon

I believe you fall in the very small minority here. Most of us are grateful for the chance to have a video feed of every show of the Beacon run plus archived concerts. Should you be viewing from your monitor or are fortunate enough to be able to run it to a big screen TV it's an OPPOURTUNITY to see shows that you not in attendence.
I happen to think it's pretty cool however you're entitled to your own opinion.

Saddletramp, I've done a lot of shows myself, including 4 Beacons in 07, but I never left feeling the ABB owed me anything when it was over (usually the other way around!). No one is forcing me to subscribe to Moogis, and given what I paid in '07 for air, hotel, tix, drinks and food, this is saving me big money. I'm no technical genius, but I've figured out how to hook it to my bigscreen and receiver (sounds and looks great!).

I know nothing about Frogwings, but since '00 the recording industry is not exactly thriving. I'm sure if it made economic sense, it would have happened. Thanks for mentioning Mr Betts' firing; it helped me understand where you're coming from on this.

Saddletramp registered less than a week ago, obviously just to spread a bad vibe.

Do us all a favor, state your gripe, move on and please, please stay away from NYC for the next 3 weeks; we don't need your bad mojo around here.
