Since striking workers were paid benefits by the state, much additional currency was printed, fueling a period of hyperinflation. The 1920s German inflation started when Germany had no goods with which to trade. The government printed money to deal with the crisis; this allowed Germany to pay war loans and reparations with worthless marks and helped formerly great industrialists to pay back their own loans. This also led to pay raises for workers and for businessmen who wanted to profit from it. Circulation of money rocketed, and soon the Germans discovered their money was worthless. The value of the Papiermark had declined from 4.2 per US dollar at the outbreak of World War I to 1 million per dollar by August 1923. This gave the Republic's opponents something else to criticise it for. On 15 November 1923, a new currency, the Rentenmark, was introduced at the rate of 1 trillion (1,000,000,000,000) Papiermark for 1 Rentenmark, an action known as a monetary reset. At that time, 1 U.S. dollar was equal to 4.2 Rentenmark.

Good luck with your dollars. I might have been kind thinking they will be worth 2 cents on the dollar. I would buy wheel barrells, that is what you are going to need to buy your loaf of bread.

Does Weimar Germany remind you of anything we are doing here in the USA?

Check out the money supply and what your government is doing to your currency!

You guys live in a bubble if you think I am the only one that thinks the dollar is finished. Even Obama himself has said that if we aren't careful, we won't be able to meet our obligations. That means we can't pay the interest on the loans we have made. On that day, the dollar is done.

I am not the type to tell you "I told you so", because on that day, you will remeber JPB and what he tried to warn you about on the WP. On that day, we are finished as a nation. We are goiing to experience something the likes we have never experienced before, poverty as a nation. Hedge your investments against the dollar. Buy gold, silver, or foreign currency. RUN FROM THE DOLLAR, IT IS FINISHED.

No, that's not my style.

If you saw the iceberg coming, and you were on the titanic. Would you tell others about the impending doom? Run for the nearest life raft? or stay on board until the last person was off after helping as many as you could get off the boat?

I am willing to stay on this sinking ship for awhile, I am going to warn as many as I can. Some will head the warnings, others will go back to dining and dancing. I am willing to do whatever it takes, but I will step over the dead people in the end. I can't help the fools that want to continue to dance and dine while the ship is going down. This ship has hit the iceburg and is sinking slowly. Don't go down with the ship.

I hope you got more out of it than that, but thanks for the FYI.

Yeah, I did....I've got the car running in the garage right now waiting for the carbon monoxide to build up.

I love how you Obama haters are crying it's the Apocalypse and in the same breath rip him for not being "positive" enough about the economy. Which is it? You can't have it both ways.

Better keep your eye on the IRS and the Swiss Banks. Taxman cracks open that golden egg and you might see your franc take a dive.

#1 Allow posters to be blocked. Some feel it is their right to attack others on this site. This feature would allow posts/comments to be blocked from your view of the users you don't want to see. This feature would greatly reduce the troll like behavior of some on this site and make it a nicer place to be. When you are attacked, sometimes your reaction is to defend yourself and then you can get dragged down into to the mud. I know the door swings both ways, it would just prevent the bullies and idiots to be blocked so you don't have to deal with their junk.

#2 Allow polls to be posted. This would be a great feature that is widely used on other sites.

#3. Allow videos to embedded on the site. It looks much better than just adding links.

Thanks for the consideration and I hope these suggestions help make this a better place to be.

JPB telling Lana how to make the site better.

Allow me to add one serious suggestion for the site that I think would be easy, number the individual posts of a thread. This way people could easily reference back to a specific post they had made in a thread.

This is a music fan site, JPB. Based on the majority of your posts here, any polls you would begin or share would be political and sky-is-falling in nature. Are you seriously suggesting that Lana and Rowland should allow you (or anybody) to use the site they created to become a platform for your mind-set/politics and be used as a stepping stone for getting that drivel even further out into the web (which, by the way, may be perceived out in web-land to indicate they were in agreement with and/or condone said thoughts/beliefs)? LOL
