I was happy to read that one of the tracks from the upcoming RTF "Returns" live album
was recorded at the Aug. 6, 2008 Boston show I went to.
Lenny White was asked about the RTF DVD when he was at NAMM and said it would be out
around June, and it was filmed at the Montreux Jazz Festival. ____________________

Thanks for this link, Fuji! I was so disapointed to have missed their last tour ... saw them in early 70's with this line-up and it was a revelation. ____________________ "Come on down to the Mermaid Cafe and I will buy you a bottle of wine, and we'll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down..." |

Merrriweather was special. Larry Coryell and Eleventh House opened.
the only downside was a shorter RTF set. So I am looking forward to the DVD ____________________ Keep on Smiling

Stanley Clarke is just plain amazing. Period. And he's a nice guy - met him at a party after a show in Iowa City (a few decades ago) and he was very pleasant guy. ____________________ "Come on down to the Mermaid Cafe and I will buy you a bottle of wine, and we'll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down..." |

Would love to see these 3 together, Heidi! I've caught some of their stuff via YouTube, etc and you are correct - bass nirvana! ____________________ "Come on down to the Mermaid Cafe and I will buy you a bottle of wine, and we'll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down..." |

I think they're planning a new "Thunder" tour this year, but not sure. If they get over here again we'd love to go and see/hear them again. They sure lifted the roof :-) ____________________ All I did was drink a little wine - Gonna be down here for the rest of my life;-) |
