These pictures are inspiring me to listen to some Dylan this evening......
Tonight I'll probably listen to the bootleg from Bob's show in
Bristol, CT, July 16, 1989 which I recently purchased from dylansconcerts.com

i think that concert with was G.E. Smith,T-Bone Wolk,Anton Fig(?) band that began the road to the "Never Ending Tour" i could be wrong--i know in 86-87 i worked in the rehearsal studio with Dylan, & Wolk & Smith were there(& many surprise visitors ) Enjoy the show & please tell me if Bob had already readjusted his touring band

dadof2, the line-up for the 7/16/89 show was G.E. Smith- guitar, Christopher Parker-Drums and
Tony Garnier-Bass (Tony had just replaced Kenny Aaronson at that point). I remember being at
that show...It was an outdoors show and It rained non-stop during Bob's set. My brother and I
got totally drenched. Bob came out in a raincoat with the hood pulled over his head.
GREAT set list that night: Subterranean Homesick Blues, Nothing But You (Steve Earle Song).
I Believe in You, I Don't Believe You (She Acts Like We've Never Met), Shelter From the Storm,
Highway 61 Revisited, Girl From the North Country, A Hard Rain's A-Gonna fall, To Ramona,
Gotta Serve Somebody, Early Morning Rain, I Shall Be Released, Like a Rolling Stone,
It Ain't Me, Babe, Blowin' in the Wind, All Along the Watchtower.

Lately I've become real interested in collecting a few recordings from the G.E. Smith era
(1988-90). I'll probably get Bob's huge multi-set Jan. 12, 1990 show at Toad's Place/New Haven
next.

thanks alot--Tony was around & i just forgot it & yes,it was Chris Parker!--Tony really brought that never ending tour sound in line & when Larry joined in,& for a while,Bucky Baxter all the Bob music really improved...in retrospect,IMHO, G.E. & T-Bone were not his best band years for what was then the beginning of the never ending tour & Larry & all since are much superior musically & in the whole sound....thanks again for clearin' my memory out

Yup....the Larry Campbell/Charlie Sexton/David Kemper years (late 90's/early 2000's) were quite good.
A lot of good stuff came out of the Bucky Baxter/J.J. Jackson/Winston Watson years as well..
