The recent discussion about the bogus second dominoes show raised a question for me. My understanding is that the two sources are different in that one has duane higher in the tape, the other has EC. Is it possible to clean up the second source and sync them for a better approximation of the sound

I understand these things are primitive at best and of the two or three versions I've had the best could be considered a B. I also understand how much work has gone into it already, it may be at the point that its a point of dimishing returns.

Just curious

Ahhh, it seems I have to talk about what I'm doing for final remaster.
As you mentioned, two original sources of this show are existing, one is called "2nd generation tape" and this one contains many MC and seemed to be taped right side of the stage, Duane's guitar is higher, rest is ciriculated as only a music tracks and is from bootleg "Tampa Bay Blues", and seemed to be taped at left side of the stage.
FInal remaster I'm doing is, set both sources into each lef t right channel to make up this show as stereophonic.
However, both tape speed are different, almost 4% but it vary time to time, so the syncing process is very hard and require me a long long time, only a few seconds in a day.
I can't spend all the time for this project, becasue I have to work to eat, as you know.
Currently syncing process is progressed to almost end of "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" and it still rest "Bottole of Red Wine" and "Let It Rain". It will needs much more time to finish up. Please be patient.

BTW, did you get my beta 2 remaster of 2nd generation tape of this show?
At last track, I put a sample track of Layla of this final remaster.

Now if all 60,000+ of us would just chip in a couple of bucks to support Masahiko, Skip and the other folks doing all this re-mastering for us, they could take sabbaticals from their day jobs and finish up more quickly.

Anyone who has not heard Masahiko's remaster of the 12/1/70 show needs to...

Masahiko and Captskipper, I want to say right here, that ya'll are my heroes. The fact that you're busting your humps doing these remasters is greatly appreciated. It taxes my patience to record a few tracks of my own. I can't imagine taking some of the garbage you get and going second by second fixing it. Thanks for all you do!

A hearty thanks from me also for all the efforts of audio scientists, of which I have benefited many times as well. It must definately be, as mentioned, a labor of love for sure. And Rich, I don't remember ever seeing a post at 00:00 before. Is that like no mans land?
