They've toured/played together many many times over the years.....don't know if I'd say they're all buddy buddy with each other but some of the relationships are very good and deep and I would think its fair to say there is an enourmous respect amongst all living members of both bands for each other.

I really hope not too much time. If they do, then I hope the ABB opens. I like some Dead stuff, but not enough to sit through an entire set waiting for ABB.

Then you show up later if the Dead opens... this is not rocket science.

i want to be positive today as i am swirling in a $hit storm at work.
i'd love to see phil, ratdog, or the dead open or close w/ABB.
widespread works as well, since we've seen their name spread
around the rumor mill. as my buddy james carvelle said,
"it's the economy, stupid".(he's not really a buddy of mine
but he lives close and i have talked to him). i reference that
quote because the band needs to think in terms of drawing
power if they are going to do mostly sheds this summer.
i do think that is why we are not hearing about WANEE. if it is
the dead and ABB at wanee then they can announce it a month
before and it'll be slammed. remember, wanee may be held in june
when all the schools are out. i've posted on the economy of summer touring '09 previoulsy.
imo, it will be other bigger name bands co-headlining w/AAB or smaller venues
in various markets this summer?
i'd like to hear them finally do push, push and i think they might this beacon
go 'round. and that is making me feel more positive as well. thanks for listenining.

I'm all for the pairing of Panic/ABB as long as the ABB are the headliners.

I just can't imagine seeing them open up for anyone on their 40th anniversary tour...it should be all about the ABB or nothing!

I'm lazy. I'd rather get there early and beat the crowd out, than get there late, park miles away and still be stuck in the crowd leaving.

Maybe I post for other Allman fans as well, maybe I do not. If I wanted to spend my hard earned money listening to the Dead or another associated band, I'd buy a ticket and go see them. Alas, I do not. Spare me, please.

I, seriously, doubt that... especially on the west coast!

come man..i dont think those bands need eachother..they are big on their own..
Grateful dead will always be the bigger band in terms of fans etc..but the abb is sure a hell of a live band and will always be.

i agree with crazy fingers. the dead could have any one of a dozen or
so bands that would fill the ABB co-bill. it saddens me to say that because
i feel the dead should open for the ABB all across the country.
they filled Bryce-Jordan @PSU for a lot of reasons, the dead being
the primary reason. not to mention, i'm not sure how many dead/ABB
dates we will see. the dead's schedule is out. one date in WA and then
Wanee(?), that might be it?

You're correct. I'll pay $$ to see the ABB without the Dead on the ticket.

i dont want to slam the ABB..their one of my all time fave bands, but if we are talking about "popularity" grateful dead will always be the bigger act..thats just a fact..that dosent mean nothing negative against the ABB..

That's cool. But make no mistake. YOU are talking about the Grateful Dead. it's all you ever talk about.
