Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone can recommend which Van Morrision CD's from the last 10 years or so are worth picking up? Any of them similar in sound to his earlier 70's work? Thanks.

There's a pair from the mid-90's I like. The Live 2-CD set "A Night In San Francisco" and the
jazzy "How Long Has This Been Going On?". Van is in fine form on both.

I'm a fan of What's Wrong With This Picture -- the cut "Once In A Blue Moon" off of that album is just fantastic.

Agree on the How Long Has This Been Going On with Georgie Fame. I also like Magic Time, Back on Top, Too Long in Exile.

I own every Van Morrison album, except one, which was out of print but is supposed to be reissued soon, but anyway. His latest stuff is good, but it really doesn't compare to his stuff from the 70s that said. I loved Back on Top, but that was eleven years ago now. WOW, I am getting old, anyway. I love his stuff from the early 1980s he was getting in touch with his mystical side then, and inspired from Khalil Gibran (partial namesake of Derek and Susan's child) J. Krishnamurti and other eastern writers. He does this with a Celtic/Blue eyed soul twist that only Van can. Those albums are Common One, No Guru, No Method, No Teacher (Which creates deep introspection and omnipresent love, and one of my very favorites) I also like Avalon Sunset from the early 1990s. As for his latest stuff, I liked Magic Time and last years Keep It Simple, as well as Whats Wrong with this picture. Anyway, just my 12 cents worth.

"The Healing Game" (1997) is a GREAT record, and yes, it's in the vein of his early stuff, and yes, it's every bit as good as his early stuff.

no bad ones IMO. I have and like them all.

Back on Top, and What's wrong with this Picture get the most play of the more recent stuff.

I could hardly get "What's Wrong" out of my Cd player when it came out.

If you dig country you'll love " Pay the Devil"

can't go wrong with any really.

Me too! Wasn't sure how far back to go with here but that would be in my list, too. Heck ... who am I kidding ... I pretty much just like Van Morrison. Period.
