Just curious to see how others spend the day/evening...

My wife and I both have a special disdain for this "Hallmark Holiday." We don't even get each other cards or do much of anything "special." (Funny how your view of such things changes after you've been married for a while...) We do make a big deal out of it for our 5-year-old daughter, of course. Actually, the biggest highlight for us is my annual trip to Walgreens on the 15th to get a heart-shaped box of candy at 75% off that we share watching TV that night...

Now, that's just the way we do it and if folks really get into it, hey get into it! It's all good!

How are you spending your V-Day this year, if at all? I can imagine that trying to go out to dinner this Saturday night might be a chore...

I'm hoping to get up to Bucknell College to see DTB. Iffy right now because Rose isn't feeling well.

If we don't go, I'll cook up some nice filets.

Depends on who I have to spend it with

My office is right beside a high-end gourmet shop and we buy-out all the left over Belgian chocolate on the 15th, too!

All the restaurants around here inflate their prices for the weekend, just like the florists.

We usually have a nice dinner at home.

My wife won't allow me to buy Roses for Valentines anymore after
discovering how much I was paying for them.

Occasionally, I will buy her 3.
One from me, and one for each of the boys.
Chocolates are forbidden. Never works out that way.
Then is depends what is going on that day.

I try to play it up since my birthday is the day after and
she thinks that overshadows it (as well it should ) but I
keep telling her to not worry about that.

Since it is a Saturday, there will be some shagging going
on ...

Staying in with my wife and a bottle of wine. No presents for each other

The reason? We're saving hard for our week long trip to Manhattan in March to see the Allman Brothers!

I always spend Valentine's Day with my girlfriends. This year we're celebrating in Baltimore and we're planning to see "Friday the 13th" on Friday night, "My Bloody Valentine" on Saturday, and then drink enough wine for a small country. It's going to be fun

I bring the woman in my life flowers all the time because I know it makes her smile. We do the little things for each ...all the time, because it brings us both joy when the other smiles.

I think this is what it should be about. Valentine's day doesn't matter to either of us, we'll probably order a pizza.

I don't think I could date someone who thought this day was meaningful and important.

Any woman who makes a big deal about Valentine's Day thinking its an important way for her significant other to express his love for her is not my type of girl. Likewise, if the only time I expressed my affection for my wife was on Valentine's day, than I don't deserve her. My wife and I do nice things for each other all year every year. I try to avoid restaurants with fixed menus, crappy service and huge crowds on Valentines day, but my wife does want to go out with another couple that night. I just don't feel any pressure to do something over the top for that day.

For your information, all the product we buy from our wholesalers costs us that much more for the holidays.

It's called "Supply & Demand".

I must be old fashioned, I still buy roses, long stemmed, candies and jewelry and we go out to a nice place for dinner that we both enjoy...

I am not married and have no girlfriend so maybe I'll give myself a box of chocolates and a Hallmark just to show myself how much I care!

Don't have any idea what we'll do if anything. I am happy with our plans to go see DTB on 2/27 with a bunch of great people from this site. Now THAT does it for me.
