I just booked round trip airfare to NY on US Air and it was nearly cheaper than one Beacon ticket! $125.20 plane tickets vs $113.49 Beacon ticket.

I was surprised to get some fairly reasonable airfare myself this year from Middle Earth - believe rates were just as good coming out of Des Moines as Chicago when I booked (although your 125 has me beat, nebish!)

$326 to LGA from Knoxville. Through Charlotte both ways on USAir. I think the return flight is the same one that went down in the river. I hope they dried it out.

We looked at Nashville, which would have saved $100, but then considered the 2 1/2 hr drive and parking and decided it wasn't worth the savings.

You look on Orbitz, Alan? Sounds high.

Orbitz, Expedia, and then bought them directly from USAir. The problem with flying out of Knoxville is that depending on the airline (Delta does have a direct to LGA from TYS, but it was within $15 or $20 and the return didn't get here until close to 11pm on Sun.), you have to connect somewhere - Atl, Charlotte, Pixburg, even Memphis if Northwest. So, the travel sites were pretty much the same.
