Here's my list in order of importance:

1. Rubber Soul
2. Revolver
3. Sgt. Pepper
4. Abbey Road
5. White Album (The Beatles) I read they wanted to call it a Doll House!

Rubber Soul was the beginning of the maturing introspective era of the Beatles and Revolver pushed that theme with more acid induced lyrics and Pepper was the pinnacle of that era. Abbey Road is fabulous to me and I never tire of it, but there are some weak tracks; maxwells silver hammer and octpusys' garden to name a few. The white album is an electic collection of the beatles both as a group and solo artists and marked the begining of the end for them as a group. I love the Beatles more than any other artist or group and they really had a profound effect upon my musical tastes.

Nice post swedish bro fan!

If you believe the ?Goldman? Biography Sgt. Pepper was recorded during John's descent into heroin use and the path it took (upbeat band songs) reflected Paul's attempt to either 1 -usurp power or 2 - hold things together (depending on which side of the argument you take.) Amazingly, however, John still stole the best song with "A Day In The Life" (except for the middle section which was written by Paul

WHITE ALBUM

then on like another level below that Sgt Peppers & Abbey Road are fighting it out. I don't even need to pick the last 2, those 3 are so far above the rest.

The White Album is one of the greatest albums ever. Varied styles - it rocks hard (Helter Skelter), goes almost honkey tonk (Rocky Racoon) and provides some of the best soft sad songs (Blackbird). It lets each member step forward and shine in some way or another at different times. It also contains "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with Clapton. Additionally for me it has a lot of sentimental value - my parents didn't have a huge record collection but they did have this and I listened to it ALOT as a kid (they had some other good stuff like Butterfield Blues Band and Country Joe and the Fish, buts thats a story for another day). I played Dear Prudence while I danced with my mother at my wedding. Even with all that "Mother Natues Son" and "Savoy Truffle" are my favs.

The tier 2 beattles albums are still amazing and I love them. Sgt Peppers if for nothing else than "Lovely Rita". Abbey Road has such a thematic feel and that whole side 2 just flows together like one big song....its amazing.

1. Magical Mystery Tour - (I am the Walrus, Strawberry Fields, All you need is Love. my 3 favorite beatles songs)

2. Abbey Road - come together, something, great song arrangement and flow to the record.

3. Sgt Pepper - lucy in the sky with diamonds. a day in the life

4. Revolver - she said, tommorrow never knows.

5 Let it Be - get back, love Billy Preston's playing on this record.

IT is about the songs. These have my favorite songs. prefer the blue greatest hits package to the red.

edited to fill out before hugh gets on my case too

Rubber Soul
Revolver
these albums are where it really got serious. In My Life is my favorite Beatle song. It's not on an album, but Rain is also one of my favorite tunes and would have fit on Revolver. Good Day Sunshine, Taxman, The Word. All great songs from that period

White Album - again, some unreal stuff. Dear Prudence, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Sexy Sadie. Really like John's writing.

Abbey Road - How can you not love an album with Come Together, Something, Oh Darling, and "side 2"

Meet the Beatles (With the Beatles) - my introduction to the band. I still love the early, "pop" stuff. The music on this has great rhythm and feel to it - The Beatles had an energy and syncopation that I don't think anyone else cold match at the time.
A Hard Days Night (Something New) and this are very close in the 5-6 spot for reasons that were already said.

Actually, they are all my favorite except for Yellow Submarine

My favorite Beatles record is the Blue Greatest Hits one. The reason is it has all my favorite Beatles songs on it.

For non Greatest Hits I really like Abbey Road the medley on it is sweet

1. ABBEY ROAD
2. THE BEATLES
3. REVOLVER
4. SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
5. RUBBER SOUL

Well, for me, I could name them all. I like their entire catalog.

ABBEY ROAD has just got some of the best studio musicianship on it. And great recording techniques. Beautiful vocals and is just warm to me. You can hear them working together intentionally.

THE BEATLES (aka The White Album) well, because it's so all over the place and was a pretty ballsy random album to make. And it's long and has some incredible things on there. I even enjoy "Revolution 9" 'cause it's like a wtf outta nowhere.

REVOLVER. The turning point, with great innovations, some great songs, very versatile.

SGT. PEPPER'S Again, just amazing to have pulled that off. And with only 2 4-tracks. Really cool and interesting ideas.

RUBBER SOUL - The songs. Just a great collection of music.

I am a bit of a Beatle snob, so I ignore the bastarized US releases

1. Rubber Soul - The one that set the tone for thier future recordings. Let the moptop image fade away at this point.

2. Revolver - A further continuation of RS. Some of the best songwriting John anf Paul ever did.

3. Abbey Road - The perfect :"last hurrah". Side 2 medley is an alltime classic..

4. Sgt Pepper - The Beatles did drugs? . I prefer Johns work over Pauls and this is obviously Pauls " baby". That being said- A Day In The Life is one of the best songs Jogn ever wrote.

5.With The Beatles - The pure joy of this record just jumps out at me at every lisen to this.

AFFS-Over the past 10, 15 years I have grown to love the Help! album. From the time I was very young I always loved certain songs from it,especially Ticket To Ride(that is some of the most soulful singing I've ever heard; and the harmonies are so tight). But now I just appreciate every track. It's a terrific album! And it would definitely make my top five Beatles' albums. I see, one other poster has Help! in his top five(Doug).
Anyway, I think I would afford Abbey Road the top spot on my list, with Revolver(UK) following a close second. Not sure how I'd fill out the rest of the list.
