Today marks the 45th anniversary of their appearance, in black and white, on this show. I was 10 years old and remember it vividly. That show aired on a Sunday night and it began at 8pm. I remember sitting in front of the tv in my pjs with my sister, brother and parents waiting for them to come on. Amnybody else remember it??

yea - I was in Kindergarten. Honestly, I remember the event more thant the music itself.
My parents gave me a "Beatle hair comb" for the show. A week later, my grandparents bought me Meet the Beatles.
Things haven't been the same since.

Remember it well (and fondly). Sunday night was always Ed Sullivan night in my family's home and these guys blew this 10 year old away. The next day our teacher asked if we had watched these guys the night before and called for raised hands of all that enjoyed them and I shot mine up there ... then proceeded to survey the room and realize no others were up there waving (teacher then proceeded to diss them ). I was hooked though. My dad came home with my 1st non-Disney 45's and album shortly and I wore the grooves out of those things. And within about 6 months I had my longish hair cut into a Beatle cut.
