The Republican Party has been in deep shiat for awhile.

I'm counting on a strong comeback for the Conservative Movement. I really think this past election woke up a lot of Conservatives .

The cartoon of Rush just reminded me of this...does anyone else find it odd that the current administration is giving so much time to the likes of Rush and Fox News? I can't remember the context (because I was half asleep on the couch last night), but the White House Press Secretary, Gibbs is it?, was asked a question yesterday by a Fox reporter and then Gibbs made some comment about being "fair and balanced". Prior to that Obama told people not to listen to Rush, which probably led to several million more people tuning in. I just think its odd that they would pay any attention to talk show hosts and news networks. Perhaps its not unique to this administration, but I always find it odd. It sort of shows that they (Rush/Fox in this case) got under the administration's skin. At the end of the day, Rush and Fox News don't set policy, so why would they acknowledge them one way or the other?

Because there isn't any Republican leadership to speak of, and there's no other source? Looks like Limbaugh is leading the Right because no one else wants to. That's on them, not anyone else.

"Hey, who's your leader?"

"Uh, this guy on the radio. Pure entertainer."

Who has the problem?

BarryO's stormtroopers need a bad guy to deflect from BarryO's increasingly obvious shortcomings. Let 'em bash Rush all they want. It will ultimately reinforce the aforementioned shortcomings in the public eye. Can you hear it now? "The country's going to hell and Obama is fixated on a radio entertainer!"

It is odd....And it's symbolic of the current administration, who's already showing signs of lacking the ability to think things through. All the sudden it's the Presidents business who people listen to? Did you ever hear Reagan say, "Don't listen to Dan Rather. That's not how things get done."

Well, drrrrr.

Then who is it? Boehner? McConnell? The new guy, Michael Steele? If Limbaugh doesn't speak for the GOP, who does? Who crafts the policy? Who authors the platform?

That's already been well-established by the President...It's got to be the radio host, Limbaugh!

(so don't listen to him)

Unreal..

Seriously, I think that's in the process of hashing itself out.

Back to the Limbaugh deal...Watch his ratings after being unwittingly elevated by Obama. That was a really odd strategy.

I hope he does a better job with the economy and terrorism.

I really don't think it's a strategy. More of an observation. It's hard to gauge what Limbaugh's level of influence really is. He's your rock star, whether you guys like it or not. It's really strange to hear that he's just an entertainer and then have the same people talk about how important he is. I personally don't think he does anything for conservatives or Republicans. We're not going to get anywhere by being constantly at each other's throats, and he plays to that, and it's getting worse.

It may sound crazy to you, bro, but I'm really sick of arguing right vs left. To me, the world needs both. But, here we are.

If he's as relevant as the President thinks he is, maybe it's time for a head-to-head nationally televised debate. I'd be up for it.

Move over, Super Bowl!

I don't know, but not near as much influence as the President has over our everyday lives. That's why it seems odd that Obama would mention him by name and pull him into the arena. They're in two totally seperate galaxies as far as real influence, so I question why he even went there. It's just weird to me, but it's just one opinion.

Yeah, maybe they woke up to the fact that they should form their own party and stop labeling themselves as Republicans. They are really the RINO's, and not the moderate Republicans they've run out of the party.

I think the big story of this elections isn't the 2 governor's races because really who cares who the governor of another state is and governors races have really nothing to do with national politics. The real story of this race is New York's 23rd congressional district where a Democrat won for the first time since the civil war. This is what will happen to the Republican party if they start to move even further to the right. The Republican party apparently doesn't want moderates anymore and that is only going to keep the Democrats in power until the Republicans realize that maybe they are a very vocal minority and not the large majority they think they are.
