Man, Dickey is trying to "cover all the bases" isnt he?

THREE lead guitars, plus a Chuck Leavell style keyboardist.

He's making it work, though. Good stuff on the videos, and I love his live album "The Official Bootleg".

I miss Dan Toler, though.

Yeah, me too. Dan Toler was awesome!! I did shoot a video of The Great Southern with Toler back in '02. I shot it on an old analog camera though. I'll try to upload some of that sometime. Did you Dan's brother was a drummer for the ABB in the early 80's?

Oh, yes. I remember Dans brother on drums very well. Frankie.

Saw that lineup 2 times. Enjoyed them live very much, except for the key-tar.

Oh man, ya remember that thing?? The key-tar.... one of the really awful musical instruments of the 80's. I never felt like it fit the ABB sound at all.

Man Mike , that was fantastic . This is by far the best performance I've seen by DB since his departure . I've always missed him in the ABB , but this number tore the scab off of an old wound for me . Thanks again for posting this video ! Keep it up .

Going to the Beacon and hearing Dazed and Confused just wouldn't flip my skirt, but this sure as hell would.

Mike .. This was from DB & GS at Beacon 06 , I believe... I was in the 5th or 6th row center in front of Mr. Betts... Fantastic... Great shot you have from up there... That was a great night for Dickey and the Band... lots of memorable moments... BWIAB.... is one that sticks out...

As someone from the ABB band commented not to long ago... no country.... well I ask you where is the country in that complicated composition ??? Hmmmm Dickey is a master at songwriting... and delivery.. for all in, any band he is in..

Nice Videos Mike from the ABB.. I enjoyed watching ..

That is an awesome video. The only really uber country songs that dickey did later on would be Seven Turns and Tombstone Eyes. I wouldn't really consider back where it all begins country. There was not even a hint of country on Shades of Two Worlds, that album just rocked all the way through. Let Me Ride is kind of countryish... but its more roadhouse blues to my ears.

Thanks again Mike! Great camera work and sound. Now, if you only had some power over the guys with the spotlights. Duane's playing an amazing solo and the spotlight is still on Dickey, WTF? And the same for Mike.
