I've got Center Orchestra W for a Beacon Show, seats 109-112.
They are behind the sound board, but according to the Beacon website, they won't be "obstructed" per se.
Does anyone have any insight as to what sight line I can expect.
I usually sit in the Lower Balcony, so the Orchestra area will be new to me.
I just hope me and my guests aren't completely blocked by the sound board folks.
Does the Orchestra area slope up towards the Loge section, or is it flat?
Thanks in advance...
Labrat

Never been to the Beacon so can't comment on your seats, but in general I like sitting in the area of the soundboard as the sound of the show will be as good as it can get. If the "line of sight" is also good, so much the better.

it slopes all the up to back. I have been near there. they are decent seats.

be ready to dance, not much sitting happening in the orchestra section.

I sat in that area a few times, no problem with the view or the sound.

How about the upper balcony? Does it really suck or are the peanut gallery seats still pretty good?

Funky, I'll reiterate what I've posted elsewhere here. I've been to alot of Beacon Shows (I live in CT), the only seats that suck are the extremes. Way left or right, way up high etc. Stay away from those, and you should be OK. Although, I don't know about the "new" Beacon, none of us do.

As far as behind the soundboard, we needed an extra for a Saturday and grabbed a solo there. Our friend just mosied over to us on the left side - plenty of space because as spacemonkey said, everyone's standing anyway.

get your ass inside and it's all good brother.

Thanks for the response. I have never been to the Beacon and I *am* going to be way up high (upper balc row M) but I'm not too worried about it.

When was the last time you went to The Beacon? Security now is a real pain in the a$$ and people who try to wander to the front are constantly shushed back to their seats.

Yeah, I got a feeling security is going to be real tight at the new Beacon. I remember when they re opened the theater at the Garden a number of years back and were cracking down on everything.

Since MSG took over, the days of roaming free at a Beacon show are OVER. As is smoking anything. I can't imagine it will be much worse than it was the year or two since the takeover.

I couldnt be happier that the days of roaming are over. You buy a ticket stay in your
F-ING seat. The last thing I want is anyone thinking that my aisle seat is there to be shared with them. Also for every TOOL that decides he can work his way into a row, it just F's up the rest of the row and people get jammed in to tight.

I would love to be a Beacon usher for just one night.
Smoke'em if ya got'em , but stay in your damn seat.

I'm in agreement with this too, I just want to clarify my earlier post, our aisle had several empty seats that my friend took advantage of, we didn't push anyone out and he would have stayed where he was otherwise because he's not the pushy type.

Greg

was talking to some of the " old Beacon security " at the Wellmont Theatre after the Gregg show there a few weeks back. and i will quote one of them, " you're in for a rude awakening".

it was so nice to see lots of the old Beacon guys working at the Wellmont Theatre, became friends with many of them over lots of years of going to the Beacon, they were like family.
