I've heard the audio snippets so I'll definitely be ordering the Ed Blackwell Memorial Concert CD myself. As a drummer myself, I love Jaimoe's style of playing.

In the upcoming HTN, we have an interview with Jaimoe, Dave and Junior Mack about the Jasssz Band and their two new CDs - both are must-haves, and the interview is a must-read

I got cleanedup and checked jaimoes site and have listened to the sound snippets also
they def. grabbed a hold of something special from the big band era

if someone is just getting into bigband this is perfect starter set

Hey Dave!! Miss you!! One day!!

I love watching the Mohegan Sun DVD. A fine looking (and sounding!) band.

Wow. Sound clips sound great. Wish the Brothers would bring back A Change is Gonna Come. That's one of the highlights among many on the Beacon Theatre DVD. Amazingly tasteful.

Hey now -

I am really excited to read how much everyone is enjoying the sound clips!

Believe me, it was a challenge to pick a representative 30-second clip out of a 10-minute or longer song! It took me much longer to edit these clips than it does for most CDs ...

The shortest song on either of the two CDs is nearly 7 minutes, the longest nearly 20 minutes. The average would have to be over 10 minutes.

WoW !!

What a great band! Extraordinary horns and woodwinds. Junior Mack -- who is new to my ears -- is *very* slick on guitar *and* has a wonderful voice too.

Excellent organ *and* piano ........... and terrific bass by David Stoltz -- hangs right there with Jaimoe, who is crisp, tight, and creative all over these new releases.

Good work, Guys!!

Many Thanks

I got mine yesterday and I really enjoy the dvd. I was reading the linear note on the "live at the double down grill," it said, "I [Jaimoe] record 99% of my gigs, audio video or both." So I hoping Jaimoe releases more shows from his band.

I got my Jaimoe cds this weekend, and of course I am enjoying listening very much. I was there at the Double Down show, and had taken some pictures of the band that night.

Months later,at another Jaimoe gig I showed some of them to Jaimoe, and he asked if he could use them for his "upcoming CD". I gave them to him, and said a big "Yes, go right ahead".

I was very pleased to see them on the inside CD jacket! Thanks to Jaimoe for using them.

Maybe I can become a Rock Photographer? Maybe I shouldn't quit my day job though!

Mitch

Guys, anyone know if i can purchase some CD's at the gig in BB Kings on the 13th of March? I'm travelling from Ireland and would prefer to buy some CD's on the night rather than get them shipped to me from America

Thanks

Okay... I finally made it through both CD's all the way through and the bonus DVD...

WOW! Man that is some excellent stuff all the way through. The whole band. But there is just something about Jaimoe that I love. Obviously his playing is phenomenal, very under-rated, but his whole personality is just a great trip!

THANKS for putting that stuff out! And hope more is to come someday.
