A few summer's back I saw The brothers with Tom Petty Petty at Post Gazette Pavillion in Burgettstown. It was an electric show, just wondering what are the chances of seeing The Brothers and The Dead team up for a summer tour?

As much as I like them both, I don't want to see them together for this tour. Ratdog for the 2 past years was enough.

Cool cool, as much as I love seeing the ABB whenever I do see them in Burgettstown they usually only attract beween 10,000 - 14,000 except with another big name like Petty they sold it out with 23,000. Atmosphere was electric with that many people.

Have to agree if i had my wish Govm'y mule would be a great opener but even better would be " Jimmy hall and the prisoners of love" both those bands have a different flavor i saw the dead and the ABB both at the Gorge in 2004 i left during the deads concert ABB played first it was just to much and i did not want to hear anything to ruin the vibe the brothers had set for the day..my 2 cents.

I have a feeling there will be some Dead/ABB shows, just no idea when or where.

if that indeed did happen, you think they would stick to the outdoor ampitheaters or could they hit a couple stadiums

Gonna agree on that.

Need another flavor this time around.

Or, an evening with ...

Probably amphitheaters. If we're talking 40K to 50K seat stadiums, I'd have to wonder if the double bill could sell that many seats, especially in this economy.

True that, as long as its not a double bill with Skynryd... I saw them the past few summers, and while they still get a big draw of people, you hear the same setlist over and over...

ABB did the tour with Skynyrd already....in 2005. Don't know if they'll repeat that or not.

I loved it when DTB opened for the ABB a few years back. Was great seeing them. Wonder if they'd do that again with their new album that was just released.

NO!!!!!!!!!!

Please no!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, NO!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd prefer the tour to be "An Evening with..." with maybe some guests dropping by. No need to take attention away form the 40th anniv celebration.

If they do release a new album, maybe one of the corporate record stores (Tower et al) would buy up HUGE reserves and re-sell them to us fans at a 100+% mark-up. I mean, they'd be doing us a favor, right? Those of us who can't make it to the store the second that they go on sale - we could use a TicketMaster/TicketsNow type service too, couldn't we?

I'll skip the appetizer and go straight for the main course - "An Evening With" and some choice guests!

Grateful Dead tickets are already $100..... Dead/ABB tickets would be like $150~$175 then.

I agree BigV. But I do like the suggestion of Jimmy Hall as an opening act. Both bands are blues, but they are different too. Why do they need to fill a stadium? They already did that in the seventies. For the 40th anniversity, gueats would be nice, but no opening act needed. IMO!!!

I have seen some bands that I probably wouldn't have given a chance open for the ABB. Galactic, and moe. to mention a couple. I saw a great 2 hour show with those bands, but last years co-bill with Ratdog was horrible. No more co-bills. This year should be for the fans who have stuck with this band for 40 years. An Evening With!
