I picked up the new DTB cd at Best Buy (alright go ahead shoot me)
the version sold at Best Buy has 3 "exclusive" bonus tracks;

13. Ballad of The Chicken Robber (1:55)
14. Swamp Raga (6:31)
15. Long Time Man (5:24)

Swamp Raga is the instumental tune, and is also the name of Trucks' recording studio in Jacksonville.

Digging the new CD alot, its comfortable, and an easy listen.
About the only semi-critical thing I can say about it, is that it seems to mine the same territory that Mrs. Trucks latest release does, that soul/blues rock thing, only with, naturally, a bit more testosterone (male pov) than Susan's does.

But both efforts are excellent.

It's pretty safe to assume they are referring to RAGA in terms of the Indian musical term.

Ballad of The Chicken Robber (Trucks/Mattison) is Trucks on acoustic slide (w/ some clean electric slide overdubs) and both T&M doing a little percussion. "I love to hear you saaa-iiing, now pass me a waa-ing" neat little track.

Swamp Raga (Trucks) yep, Middle East flavor to it, initially reminded me of Robbie Krieger's spidery guitar lines in The Doors track "The End", low to high bass note drone, slow plodding, but the instruments come and go (Trucks-guitar, Burbridge-keys, Pecchio-bass, and Greenwell-drums) and keeps it fairly interesting. Kind of mellows on out to an end. Well....they don't call it a bonus track for nothing....

Long Time Man (trad) same as above only a Mattison vocal, no keyboards on this song. Sounds like Trucks is playing either a dobro, or more likely, a resonator. Pretty good track, mid-tempo with a laidback porch vibe to it. Easily belongs on this album.

I believe he played this song at the Fox Theater NYE using a Dan-Electro.

So, the CD I ordered direct through HTN doesn't have those extra tracks>? Guess I'll get another copy at Best Buy!

I heard he had one modified to sound like a dobro?
