Reading the "Biggest Outdoor Concert You Ever Attended" thread, I'm impressed with the responses. I'm registered at several fan sites and can tell that this is a very sophisticated bunch. With that being said, I'd like to know what shows other members attended in 2008. At 49, I've been to a lot of shows. My first ever real concert was David Bowie in 1972 at age 13. At any rate, 2008 was my best concert year ever. I met Donovan, Eric Burdon, and Jackson Browne in 2008. I'm posting my 2008 shows below and would like to see what shows others attended. My favorite shows were Neil Young, The Who, Springsteen, and Dylan of course.

2008 was a much lighter than usual concert-going year for me, as I was quite busy with other things, such as my own band's gigging. However, I did manage to catch a few killer shows....

RUSH- Jun 15, 2008 Comcast Center, Mansfield
ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA- Aug. 3, 2008 Calvin Theater, Northampton
RETURN TO FOREVER/BELA FLECK AND THE FLECKTONES- Aug. 6, 2008 Bank of America Pavilion, Boston
JOURNEY/HEART/CHEAP TRICK- Aug. 24, 2008 Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center
FARM AID 2008- Sept. 20, 2008 (Featuring Neil Young/Willie Nelson/John Mellencamp/Dave Matthews/The Pretenders/Jerry Lee Lewis/Arlo Guthrie/Jacob Dylan/moe/Grace Potter/Steve Earle & others)- Comcast Center, Mansfield
EXPERIENCE HENDRIX- Oct. 19, 2008 (featuring Buddy Guy/Billy Cox/Mitch Mitchell/Eric Johnson/Kenny Wayne Shepherd/Hubert Sumlin/Chris Layton/Brad Whitford & Others)- Palace Theater, Waterbury, CT

Sadly, 2008 was the first year I'd missed seeing the Allman Brothers since 2001.

YUP. Neil was great. He had a full electric band and brought the house down with his version of "A Day in The Life". I noticed you saw Bob Dylan a lot last year. I used to go see him a lot during the late eighties and early nineties...I'm Overdue...

2/16 B.B. King
4/18 Derek Trucks Band/Santana
5/31 Steve Winwood/Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
6/8 The Raconteurs
6/15 Boston/Stevie Nicks
6/17 Robert Plant and Alison Krauss
6/20 Bachman Cummings
6/21 Doobie Brothers/Chicago
6/23 Dave Mason
7/15 Gov't Mule
7/31 Gov't Mule
8/15 Steely Dan
8/22 Foreigner
8/27 RatDog/Allman Brothers Band
9/1 Derek Trucks Band (also caught Trombone Shorty on a side stage)
9/9 Cheap Trick/Journey (Heart did not play)
9/21 Lynyrd Skynyrd
10/9 Mountain/Joe Satriani
10/10 Alice Cooper
10/21 The Who
11/5 AC/DC
11/11 Gov't Mule
12/7 Wilco/Neil Young

With the exception of Foreigner, they were all a blast. That was a free show marred by too many people crammed into too small of a space. You could not get anywhere near the stage, barely close enough to see.
