While many rock stars dislike talking to the press, others gave incredible interviews.... they were insightful, humble, and extremely interesting. Wheras some musicians like Bob Dylan usually reviled giving interviews, and when they did take questions, remained aloof and vague, others were more than happy to express their feelings and opinions.

In my opinion JOHN LENNON's interviews were the most fascinating I've ever heard. Such as the December 1970 Rolling Stone interview and the 1980 Playboy interview contained so much insight. From the days with the Beatles to the days with Yoko, he always had something to say.

ELVIS PRESLEY was always a humble person in interviews. He obviously appreciated his fans. At press conferences, he always kept the people laughing. His stories about his early days were very insightful.

Who are some of the best rock star interviewees?

I have heard some pretty interesting interviews by Bob Dylan... Keith Richards usually gives pretty good interviews.

Lennon's were the best, a political education for me. I think Duane was inspired by John, his interviews were just as frank and interesting. The one in "Skydog, presented in the book as a big mistake was, IMO, fantastic. He was right, a musician cannot be tied down by family life.
