After last week, I'm convinced it might be Doritos Nacho Cheese corn chips. Ate half of a large bag Monday night, and didn't feel right for four days afterwards. I'm pretty picky about what I put in my body, and hadn't eaten these in a LONG time..........just felt like throwing caution to the wind that night. Big mistake. I don't know if it's the monosodium glutamate, the partially hydrogenated oil, or what, but it's been a long time since I ate something that resulted in intestinal discomfort, horrible gas, stomach aches and headaches. My advice: Avoid anything containing MSG like the plague.

At one time, the McDonalds' sausage biscuit with egg was considered the worst fast food. Highest sat fat, high calories, little redeeming nutritional value, but for my money, the single greatest breakfast food EVER.

I prefer the McD's Bacon, egg & cheese biscuit.

That with a cold Pepsi will start the morning right.

Krystal hamburgers. They're wonderful going down but turn into what I call the 'cheapest gas in town.' A Penn hamburger (the ones made here that Elvis used to have flown in) is in a catagory all its own. I won't even transport them in my car without double baggies and a box in the trunk iin which to put them.

You could also have an allergy to corn. Oftentimes the foods we crave are foods we are allergic to. If you eat a large amount of a food you are allergic to, you will get sick, cramps, bloating, headache, hives etc. Your body believes it is under seize and releases lots of chemicals to try to deal with the impending attack. Try to have junk food that is as natural as possible. Once the damage is done, apples, carrots and potatoes (baked or mashed), rice can help soothe your body.

Sonic cheeseburgers in fact anything fast food. I had Sonic food a few months ago and it felt like a brick laying in my stomach for about two days.

BTW Chick-Fil-A does not count as fast food in my book.

1. Doughnuts - Doughnuts are fried, full of sugar and white flour and most all varieties contain trans fat. Store-bought doughnuts are made up of about 35 percent to 40 percent trans fat.

2. Soda - One can of soda has about 10 teaspoons of sugar, 150 calories, 30 to 55 mg of caffeine, and is loaded with artificial food colors and sulphites. The diet sodas are more problematic as they are filled with harmful artificial sweeteners like aspartame.

Studies have linked soda to osteoporosis, obesity, tooth decay and heart disease, yet the average American drinks an estimated 56 gallons of soft drinks each year.

3. French Fries (and Nearly All Commercially Fried Foods) When potatoes are cooked in trans fat at high temperatures, all sorts of interesting and very unpleasant things occur.

Foods that are fried in vegetable oils like canola, soybean, safflower, corn, and other seed and nut oils are particularly problematic. These polyunsaturated fats easily become rancid when exposed to oxygen and produce large amounts of damaging free radicals in the body. They are also very susceptible to heat-induced damage from cooking. What is not commonly known is that these oils can actually cause aging, clotting, inflammation, cancer and weight gain.

4. Chips - Most commercial chips, and this includes corn chips, potato chips, tortilla chips, you name it, are high in trans fat. Fortunately, some companies have caught on to the recent media blitz about the dangers of trans fat and have started to produce chips without trans fat.

However, the high temperatures used to cook them will potentially cause the formation of carcinogenic substances like acrylamide, and this risk remains even if the trans fat is removed.

5. Fried Non-Fish Seafood - This category represents the culmination of non-healthy aspects of food. Fried shrimp, clams, oysters, lobsters, and so on have all the issues of trans fat and acrylamide mentioned above, plus an added risk of mercury.

I just got a pic from a friend, Mike Marshall, one of the better musicians in the business, who cooked some paella last night;

It's worth it to cook the good stuff. While in Spain last month he came across a killer fresh sardine and almond cream sauce, so all are on the lookout for a legit almond cream sauce recipe.
