I always loved the Beverly Hillbillies episodes where Jethro was hanging with the Beatnicks.

Edit: Beatniks, oops.

allmanfanfromsweden,

Maybe instead of posting questions of this site about the "Beat Generation", maybe you ought to pick up a copy of Kerouac's "On the Road" and read that, after that maybe get into some of Ginberg's poetry, and then just follow it on through. Of course, it will help while reading all of this is to listen to some '50s jazz and maybe smoke some marijuana and drink some wine. The "Beats" were a fascinating bunch, but I guessing that most people around here where way to young, or didn't have a lack of interest to know what the "Beats" were all about. Hell, most people around here don't know what the real hippies were all about. It's terrible being an "old fart" like myself and remembering both groups,

Yes. Became interested in these folks back in late 60's as a teenager and have read many of their works (Kerouac, Ginsberg, and Burroughs, Michael McClure, Gary Snyder mostly). I've always thought that these folks were very much influenced by the artists/writers of the Lost Generation.

Uh, coffee? If that's what you want to call it, yeah, we had coffee.
