the bass player jokes are hysterical........

I don't post a lot, avoid all Red Dog food fights and Betts related conversations........WTF.

but am sorry to hear some of the peeps here are gettin' down.

now speaking of breeding........I'm all for that.........

and growing too.

I have a buddy in Portland who has a "legal grower"..........yup he does > medical buds that are so sticky they can be pushed against a wall and they actually stick to the wall.

peace folks and see y'all on Broadway for too long...........

I think I need a break from this place. I spend way too much time here, and there's too much tension and too much drama to suit me, especially here at Christmas time.

Y'all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I'll be back later.

Dave, I want to thank you for standing up for me. I truly understand what you are saying. I always say that I'll take a break, or never post here again. But I'm always drawn back. It's a damned shame that this website has sunk to an all new low and that good people like yourself feel they need to stop posting. I don't blame you, though, and I hope that you don't stay gone too long.

No Isaac. You're ok. It's just that comment was very hurtful, although I know it wasn't meant that way.

Dave.. Not sure what is going on here.. I worked 12 hrs today... so I haven't been on until around 6:30 pm...

I understand the frustration sometimes, too .. it's hard to communicate a " feeling " but the Vibe always manages to come through.

I hope, but know, people sometimes get that "enough is enough" feeling about the Dickey Betts thing with me.. and all the posts regarding the 40th .. but it is only out of love , passion that I drive myself for something that I believe in....

If I have offended anyone in this matter .. I can't really apologize , but I do understand how you would feel...

On that note... My wish is for everyone to have a Wonderful and Merry Christmas , Happy Hanukkah , Happy Holiday Season and a Very Happy , Healthy , and safe in our Homeland and Financial worries to be eased... Bless us all

Long Live The Allman Brothers Band....

Okay,...... If a Mother's Love will suffice.....
then I have some GOOD news.

My son,...and Chuck's,.....his Birthday is in 5 days.
His name is Shawn.
He was The first baby, born on Christmas Day,..in Macon, GA. 1971

(Some of you, like Dave, and Hophead, Bluedad and Linnie,...know me,..and understand the significance of this announcement,...)

More news.
Shawn works for a Fortune 500 company ,...alas,...they are currently restructuring the company,.....making a number of cuts,..letting folks go,.....asking for volunteers to take a 41 day leave without pay, while they restructure.

Shawn has been there over 10 years.
Like his Dad, before him,....he is a work-a-holic/has a strong work ethic,....so, while there, he has continued to use personal time to learn all he can, about the company, and everything he can about his own job,....with an eye toward an eventual management position,........his Dad would have been So proud.

Well,......Shawn eventually made it into lower-end management.
But currently, his own job is being phased out,....there are positions available,....but not near enough, for the number of applicants for them,...

Yesterday he had an in-house interview for one Very covented position,..(in management)..the one he Most wanted (as did a number of other folks)

He related to me how the interview went,....their questions,....and his replies.

Shawn got the job....!!!!!

And,....because he was already topped out, pay wise, on his present job, and low end of his new one, is the same starting pay,....they went ahead and gave him a nice raise to go with the added responsibilities.

He's flying high.
Tomarrow he's heading down to Macon, to visit his grandfather (my father) (who's retired USAF, out of Robins AFB)

I KNOW he can't wait to share his good news with his grandfather,....and he'll be staying in Macon through his 37 th BD,.....not really Home anymore,.....he's been up here in the N. Ga. Mountains area since he was 4, after his Dad's loss. His Dad's ashes were scattered below a lovely terrace in the woods, within sight of the upstairs window I now sit beside,...construction has never been allowed to go into the area below that terrace.
The rolling wooded hills of GA, are where he calls 'home' now.

My/our son, is moving on a road his Dad never lived long enough to have paved for him,...but Chuck cleared the way,...and now his son confidently blazes his own way to being the man his Dad woulda hoped for. Shawn, way back, made a hero of his Dad, and has always strived to emulate him. I am SO Proud of him, I could bust !!!!

I Had to tell, Someone.
Bless Dave's great timing, for opening the Perfect door,...for me to make my announcement !!!.... ,.....thankyou, my friend.

I met Dave at Chastain in October and he's as solid as they get around here....and I, like most of you, have met some damn solid people. 'sucks that he's feeling run off.

We're all passionate here - otherwise we wouldn't be here. And I spend a lot of time here too - it's part of my life, a good part. But I, too, hate the negativity that often surfaces as well.

Anyway, peace to everyone - 'hope your holiday season is laced w/love, hope, smiles, slide guitar music, friends and/or family.

This is the first time I've been here, in Months.
And the Very first thing I saw was Dave's posting,....since he's a friend,...I had to look and see what was going on.
That ended up giving me the excuse I needed, to share my good news. (I'd come here, planning to try and figure out a way to announce it),...there was my opening.
i.e. I've been out of the loop for so long, I had no idea there were any problems here.

You guys seem normal (Dave is a total 'rock' in my book)...I tend to run with an odd bunch of history buffs,....Seriously off-the-beaten-path.

Anyway,...I got no further than Dave's posting,...so I Still don't know what's been going on, here,....guess I better go and look, now,...just out of curiousity,...

Don't know what the big deal is. This place seems like good ol' ABB.com to me. Lots of good vibes and some not so good depending on what you like. It comes with the territory. If you need a break, just do it. Lots of other places to visit on the web. If you want to Rock N' Roll, this is one great place to do it (and don't take things too seriously; life's short).

Keep the Vibe Alive everyone! The Road Goes On Forever!

It depends on perspective, I have bailed for months at times and something draws me back. Dave is about as real as a man can be. Calls things as he sees them and on the rare occasion that I tilt one back, I'd do that with him in a heartbeat. I get a bit trippy during the CHRISTmas season and I have hope that "it's all good" for everyone. Afterall, we still breathe and hopefully love. Laterz and be blesed !

between the gas prices , the election and now a early harsh winter
thats keeping everyone indoors for the winter

Hang in there BDOB....this place has changed over the last few years....much less talk about music itself than when we all first joined many years ago.....Maybe it's time we redirect our thoughts and topics back towards our common love of the ABB and great improvisational music....I think that is the common ground for most of us. I have a friend that moved here from England. He calls the US 50 small countries tryng to work as one...he's right in that the diversity in this country is very wide and the political climate here was and is still ugly and has not cleared itself out. Dean has run wild but a lot of people bait him instead of just ignoring his threads. BDOB you are one of the best people we have here don't let the bad apples spoil it for ya.....Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year and I hope we all get back to the music......

It seems we have some nasty and mean spirited people as fans for the ABB whether we love them as they are or with Dickey and then there are people who have issues over how much we all Love Gregg... It's friggin NUTS>>>><<<<<

It's hard for us all to get along I guess... I try to keep my passion about Dickey in check and understand the ones who feel the way they do.... I appreicate that.. but it always has to be dragged down and dirty by some....

Here is my .01cent for what ever it is worth.... Just a few more weeks , months what ever it takes about the 40th... no Dickey ... and then No me here ..anymore.. so bare with it and it all will be over sooner than you think....

I do wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season and a Much happier New Year... for us alll
