Lobos have become one of my top 5 faves in the past few years, in large measure due to live shows: they know how to mix up their own material and they can do some great covers: how about "Sunshine of Your Love" into "My Generation" for an encore?...The band cooks and David Hidalgo is one of the most fiery guitarists on the planet...they are worth traveling to see

I like 'em, and have the compilation "Just another Band From East L.A.". Their performance on the Eric Clapton
"Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007" DVD (doing Don't Worry Baby and Mas Y Mas) is absolutely smokin'. 2 members of Los Lobos sat in with Gov't Mule to perform Cream's "Politician" on "The Deepest End" CD/DVD. David Hidalgo is a fantastic guitarist.

I absolutely love this band! I've only seen them three or four times live since the "...Wolf..." album, but I've loved every show. I have all of their CDs and still have the "...And a Time to Dance..." EP on vinyl.

Love them!

We've seen them many times, and they are a fantastic live band!

I used to live in California, and would see them often at the Catalyst, a small club in Santa Cruz. (You can ask Allen[SantaCruzBluz] about that club.)
Just before we moved back to Jersey, they would play there on a weekday, as they'd become a band that could sell-out the club on such a night.

Also, while out there, we saw them open for The Dead a few times.

For a while, after Jerry passed, there was a rumor going around that David might "replace" him (they/he does a killer "Bertha")

This passed March, we we able to catch them in a theater at Princeton University.
Although the show was a little more "subdued" than we were used to, they were still great!
For an encore, that night, they did the Marvin Gaye song, "What's Goin' On", which captivated the audience, what with the coming election approaching.
After the show, the whole band was in the lobby, signing CD's. I got "One Time One Night: Live Recordings-Vol.1" signed by the entire band.

If you ever get the chace to see them, DON'T pass it up!

Seen them six times and hope to see them every time they pass through. Fantastic live band and they make great records. I highly recommend "Kiko" and "Good Morning Aztlan".

Los Lobos smokes! Nice guys, too! Have seen them on their own and opening for others a few times and never been disappointed. Really enjoyed their tour with the Other Ones (or Dead - can't remember) on the Further Fest. These guys do one of the best Bertha's I've heard.

Barnes & Noble is having a post-Christmas sale, according to an e-mail that I received recently. There are several Los Lobos CDs on sale on the B&N site for less than $6.99--including "Kiko", which is one of my "desert island discs".
