Love soup when the weather is cold! My homemade seafood gumbo is my favorite but the crab corn chowder I had today was pretty darn good!

I love some good soup.

Especially my Grandma's Vegetable. She's gone now. I will never taste that delicious soup again.

Nothing like this soup...JonTanMen, a take on a spicey soup from the far eat Tantan Men.

1 pack top ramen Oriental flavor

put seasoning pack in bowl
a couple of BIG squirts , maybe 5 BIG squirts of Siracha Chili Garlic sauce
1/4 to 1/2 cup peanut butter, yes peanut butter
some carrots
a bunch of water
mix it up the best you can
add the ramen
micro for about 5 minutes till done and remove from the micro
its gonn abe real hot so be careful

add some broccoli
bean sprouts
green onions
maybe some boc choy ifn you like
a few squrts of soy sauce
a dash or two of sesame oil
top off with pre-prepared ground pork sauted in hot chili oil or a slice or two of pork roast
The temperature of the soup out of the micro wave will be enough to cook all the veggies besides the carrots, thats why I nuke the carrots in the micowave.

yum yum spicey peanutty sesame goodness

The weather today is in the 70's, not cold. But, to me, good soup
is good any day. My favorites that I make:

1. chili (not really soup)

2. seafood gumbo (prefer brown "gravy", but red is good too.)
I made some after Thanksgiving with turkey, hot sausage, oysters,
crab, and shrimp. Really good!

3. lima bean soup

4. lentil soup

5. minestrone soup (my New Years day soup, no black-eyed peas
allowed in my house)

JonTanMen soup sounds awesome. Think I'll add it to my recipes!

Maybe we should start a lentil thread.

We are big lentil eaters in my house, usually red lentils but also brown/green.

Last night’s dinner was brown/green lentils smothered in tomatoes and scallions.

Today’s lunch was red lentil dal bat.

Yum yum yum.

And inexpensive.

And healthy.

The Shore Boys in Easton MD have two great selections. Cream of Crab and a chunky tomato. A little pricey to order for home delivery, but if you are ever in Easton go to Legal Spirts Bar and have a bowl.

Soup Shenanigans...for the weak stomached do not read.

Years ago when I worked ramp for the airlines we used to break in new rampies one of two ways.

One way was for somebody to plant a barf bag full of warm soup on an aircraft and assign a new rampie to clean a certain section of seats which had the planted bag in the section.
The new rampie was told if they have any " spoiled" barf bags in their section that they were not to handle it and they were to notify the crew chief who would safely dispose of it.
As usuual the newbie would come across the planted bag and notify the crew chief. The chief would come back complete with a face shield, plastic apron and big thick rubber gloves really looking like something more to handle waste at Times Beach.
The crew chief would pick up the bag and say, " Wow, its still kind of warm isn't it ?"
The he'd raise his face sheild, open the bag and start drinking the soup. Seen more than one newbie run off the aircraft.
