I just read on msn.com but my computer is acting too funny today to post a link.
It was stated that Ottis Toole was the murderer of 6 year old Adam Walsh were he was abducted at a Hollywood,Florida shopping mall on July 27 1981.Toole had confessed to the crimes twice years ago and then recanted.News says Toole's niece was by his bedside just before he died in 1996 and he confessed to her a short time before his death. The Walshes can come to some closure all these years later but the pain will never go away.
You would figure how could no one seen anything that day? There were a lot of people there that day.Probably one of the saddest stories i have ever heard.
R.I.P Adam and Good Blessed Wishes to The Walsh Family

A tiny amount of solace for the family if there is such a thing. The monster who killed their precious little boy is burning in the deepest depths of hell. Hopefully he is warming up a place for Casey Anthony to burn with him along with monsters like Scott Peterson and Susan Smith and any other such scum!!!

John Walsh has believed this guy to be the one that murdered his son since he originally confessed in the 80's - it was the police that didn't officially close case until now.

Heartbreaking what happened to Adam Walsh and what happens to many other children every day at the hands of these monstors. I have to hand it to John Walsh - he has done a lot of good work with people who are going through the tragedy and heartache he had to endure. I think his method of dealing with his grief really honors his son.

Wow, this blows my mind. This is the Ottis Toole that ran with Henry Lee Lucas (another Monster). I had no idea he was the main suspect in this case.

Two movies that portrayed both of these Monsters together were :

Both portray these animals very well. Each portrays how dangerous so called strangers can be. Lucas loved to prey on girls that were hitchhiking and prostitutes. He claimed to have killed over 100.

I'm glad the family knows for sure, but it will not bring back their poor child.

Hopefully both of these guys are burnin' and screamin' in flames.

Ottis

Henry

Two very scary looking..I can't call them humans.

In 1976, Toole met Henry Lee Lucas while working at a soup kitchen in Jacksonville. They developed a sexual relationship with each other. Both would later claim to have committed hundreds of murders, sometimes at the behest of a secret cult called "The Hand of Death". Lucas would later recant his confessions, saying he made such statements only to improve his living conditions in jail. Some authorities have argued there is significant doubt as to Lucas' guilt; see Henry Lee Lucas for further information.

On October 21, 1983, Toole confessed to the murder of Adam Walsh. A few weeks after Toole made the confession, however, police investigating the case announced that they no longer considered him a suspect. John Walsh, Adam's father, continued to maintain that he believed Toole to be guilty. On December 16, 2008, Hollywood, Florida police announced Toole as the official suspect, and subsequently the murderer, and that the Adam Walsh case would be closed. The police did not reveal any new physical evidence and pointed out that they still had no DNA evidence.

In 1982, Toole locked 64-year-old George Sonnenburg in his own home and set the house alight, killing him. In April 1984, Toole was convicted and sentenced to death in Jacksonville, Florida for Sonnenberg's murder. Later that year, Toole was found guilty of the 1979 murder of an unknown prostitute dubbed "Orange Socks", a murder he committed with Lucas, and received a second death sentence. He was also found guilty of the 1983 murder of 19-year-old Ada Johnson, a Tallahassee, Florida resident, and received a third death sentence; on appeal, however, all three sentences were commuted to life in prison.

Experts at his trial had testified that Toole suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. While serving his sentence, Toole briefly shared a cell with Ted Bundy in Florida's Raiford Prison. After incarceration, Toole pleaded guilty to four more murders in 1991 and received four more life sentences.

On September 15, 1996, at the age of 49, Ottis Toole died in his prison cell from liver failure. He was buried in a prison cemetery, as nobody claimed his body.

From years of watching John Walsh, he is a man of the highest caliber. He chanelled his loss into an incredible movement. It is good he hears the ruling, although he knew it himself. Losing a child is really hard but if one had to know of cruelty also, I don't know how one would not go insane with the thought of it............ it shows the courage of people like him, who endure and do good from it, amazing really.....

I can understand that.

I have studied and collected books about Psycho's and Serial Killers for years. It's been an interest of mine for many years. It's amazing how many of them were arrested and let go, only to kill again and again.

Edmund Kemper III used to go see his Psych and listen to how great he was doing and how he was proof that serial killers could change. "He said "Little did my Psych know that I would often have a body in the trunk of my car."

Edmund started killing cats before he was 10, often burying them alive. He killed his Grandmother at the age of 15. When ask why, he said "I just wanted to see what it would be like the kill Grandma". He killed his Grandfather also. He was released from prison at age 21 as a "well" man, only to kill and kill again. He finally killed his Mother years later and called 911. He's still in prison. His I.Q. was near genuis.

Edmund Kemper

I like to know whats out there, lurking in the dark. I have warned my Daughter for many years.

The summer of 1981 was horrific. We lived in the Hollywood area and often shopped at that Sears. My daughter was six years old, same age as Adam. I was paranoid about losing her in a mall, so I held her hand very tightly even before this tragedy. It was a scary time. Then they found Adam's head. I wondered how Adam's parents could stand it.

Kenny, the serial killer that I find fascinating is Gary Gilmore. He demanded that the state of Utah execute him by firing squad. Mikal Gilmore, Gary's youngest brother, bravely told the family's deep dark secrets in "Shot In The Heart" about Gary and their family life.

The two oldest boys, Gary and Frank had been savagely beaten frequently by their father. Mikal was the youngest and did not suffer the abuse his brothers did. While Gary became a criminal and murderer and a very angry man, his brother Frank, the oldest, became a quiet, introverted man, who worked for a living and never caused any trouble nor committed any crime. How could those brothers have turned out so opposite?

Norman Mailer wrote a novel, The Executioner's Song based on the life of Gary Gilmore and an HBO movie was made as well. I have never seen the movie, nor read Mailer's book.

These killers seem to have lost their souls somehow. Gary Gilmore preferred a quick death to living out his live in prison. The youngest of the Gilmore brothers, Mikal, got an education and was a reporter for a major newspaper, but I can't remember which one. I would hate to have to live in Mikal's skin. So much horror in this world. Where does it come from?

Ruthie, Mikal Gilmore wrote for Rolling Stone magazine. I remember seeing his byline when I was reading RS during my teens; it was years later I found out he was Gary Gilmore's brother. Very fascinating--yet not totally uncommon--how family members lives can turn out so differently.

Years ago, I remember seeing a movie with Tommy Lee Jones and Rosanna Arquette that was based on Gary Gilmore's life and death. I think it was based on the Norman Mailer book. Not sure if its the HBO movie that you are referring to.

I'm going to see if this thread can be moved to the Whipping Post or I may start another one about some of these monsters over there.

I hate to discuss this stuff any further over here, since it's not a music topic...nor is it a topic that a lot of people on this part of the forum want to talk about.

Not being mean, I just don't want to ruffle any feathers.

I would recommend this book, Ruthie - excellent writing by Mailer here.
