Happy Xmas(war is over) by John Lennon- it can still choke me up; I associate it so strongly with the feeling of loss in December 1980.....
Please Come Home For Christmas by Charles Brown- The original version of this song is still the best( he also did the original version of Merry Christmas Baby)

the song was "I've Got Some Presents For Santa"
by Sarah Taylor and Bill Mumy

lyrics:

I've got some presents for Santa
and he's got a big one for me
While outside it snows
I take off all my clothes
and wait for Santa underneath my tree

He squeezes into my hot chimney
where it's oh, so warm and tight
On the roof I hear his reindeer
I'm so very glad he came here
It's only once a year
but..what a night

(chorus
Santa Claus takes a pause
from his long night of delivering
His big 'north pole'
can sure get cold
His jolly butt's all shivering

I offer Santa my 'cookies'
He loves to put them into his mouth
His long beard tickles
It gives me the giggles
He finishes his snack
and then flies South

(chorus)

Ooh! Santa! I love my present!
What else is in that big bag of yours?

Santa and I share a ciggie
and I help him back into his red suit
I know he has to go
He just says, "Ho Ho Ho"
I can't help it; he's so cute

(chorus)

I've got some presents for Santa
and he's got a big one for me
While outside it snows
I take off all my clothes
and wait for Santa
I take off all my clothes
I'm waiting for Santa
underneath my tree

Merry Christmas

I really like the arrangement, instrumentation and vocals on this tune. Then a couple years back I took a closer look at the lyrics. Damn, I wonder who gave Greg all that coal when he was a kid? It's kind of a bummer.

My favorite "rockin'" Christmas tune is probably Sleigh Ride, by the Ronettes. I wish they had included the "bridge" in the song, though. I wonder why they didn't?

Kinda partial to Bing Crosby and David Bowie doing the Little Drummer Boy.

Oh, and Arlo Guthrie's The Pause of Mr. Claus is a classic!

I really like Mannheim Steamroller's version of God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen. It sort of reminds me of 70's car chase music. I also like the song, Christmas, from the rock opera, Tommy, by The Who.
