Is this going to be grunge music or Rush's 2112 album?

And Mule hits Texas in February.

As for temples, They don't know what it's like to drink from your cup. LOL.

Possibly grunge, but there is no way they would do Rush. I'm a big old school Rush fan, but Warren would have to have someone(presumably Steff) squeezing his b@lls on stage during the set. Warren is amazingly talented, but singing Geddy Lee's parts would be impossible.

Maybe they will perform the "Temple of the Dog" album in its entirety.

They already do Hunger strike > dear mr fantasy > hunger strike.

I love that album anyway. Eddie Vedder and especially Chris Cornell backed by what is now Pearl Jam. Matt Cameron was the drummer for Soundgarden at the time this was recorded.

Ticketmaster lists 2 ticket prices for the Angel Orensanz show, $50 & 60. I thought this was GA. It says there's a balcony. What do you all have?
I'm going to try for tickets tomorrow!

I wish I was going.... the thought of Grunge Mule is awesome to me. I don't have plans, I just can't afford it this year.

I have the floor too. It's the floor that's GA and I think the Balcony is seated.

If you're not familiar w/ Nirvana, a "light" intro to them would be the MTV Unplugged show of theirs. It freakin rawks. And if you're ready for the hi-test version, check out their first record, Bleach

ps- warren's mommy rode on dave grohl's bus out of nyc after the 9/11 attacks.

Isn't Mule playing at a temple? Highly unlikely on a Temple of The Dog performance. I don't even think Temple of the Dog ever actually performed a concert, it was tribute to Andrew Wood.

But the album they released is a great rock n roll album by any standard. Throw away the "grunge" stereotype. Warren is a fan of that era. He not only covers "hunger strike" but "indifference" by Pearl jam and "Creep" and "lucky" by Radiohead.

This is not to say they are going to do this, but it shows you the diversity of Warren's setlist. He just appreciates great music.

Oh I am a big fan of the Temple of the Dog record and an even bigger fan of Pearl Jam and am well aware of Warren's versatility in covers and agree with all you say except I do not believe that the "Temple" is a reference in this case to that record.

I see what you are saying, but there is a theme each year for the New years show and he does refer to the actual new years run.... You could be very right though, but the play on words is uncanny.

"These shows will be part of the "Temple of The Mule" New Years Eve run in New York City."

temple of the dog did a few shows together
like less than 7 but for awhile it wasnt uncommon for vedder or cornell
to get together with each others bands and do the covers live

i doubt mule would do an acoustic cover of the whole album but we can dream

id love to hear abb do a cover of reachdown

The first time I heard Warren do Indifference, I was stunned.

"ps- warren's mommy rode on dave grohl's bus out of nyc after the 9/11 attacks."

I remember hearing that story.

Doug, in the past I have received tickets thru Music Today even 10 days before the show. I have a feeling we'll hear something on Monday but you can always drop them a line too.
