I just received this email and found it both funny and sickening at the same time. Thought some of you would get kick out of it.

Free album download of JD & The Straight Shot's Right on Time

JD & the Straight Shot, with lead vocalist/guitarist Jim Dolan and guitarist/chief
songwriter Bruce Koplow, have created a new album that includes guest appearances
by two of the greatest musicians to ever touch a six-string. "Slow Motion in Reverse"
features searing lead guitar work by Joe Walsh of the Eagles, while "A Train's A Coming"
spotlights the intensity of pedal steel guitar virtuoso Robert Randolph, known for leading his
own Family Band while collaborating with such icons as Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Dave Matthews and more.

Other standouts on Right on Time include the rollicking single, "Double My Order," introduced by
rumbling boogie-woogie piano and Chuck Berry-style guitar leads; and the easygoing beat of "Leap of Faith,"
which evokes an updated Stax Records sound. "Lie No Better" conjures impressions of Stevie Ray Vaughan,
complete with gospel harmonies and greasy harmonica - all used to tell a tale of cheating hearts that would make B.B. Kind proud.

The New York Post hailed Dolan's "swaggering vocals" as "reminiscent of Tom Waits and Randy Newman,"
while Blues Matters, the UK's most read blues magazine, declared of Right on Time that "JD's vocals
that really draw the ear - understated and low-toned but beautifully sung."

The most painful thing amidst this article besides the TYPO of SINGED instead of SIGNED is the fact that he was compared to Tom Waits. I bet Tom would just love to hear that.

I always thought that he bought the beacon out of some sort of sick idea that owning the building would allow him to jam with the ABB at some point. I sure hope it never happens.

Next year is year 40 and it's a fact that the band is going to do a lot of special things. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Dolan does sit in at the Beacon. Remember that when Jim Dolan announced that the Beacon was getting redone, who was standing right next to him at the press conference?...Gregg Allman praising Dolan for what he's doing.
