Can we expect a little bit of something like this.....

I think Jorgen can do a fine job bringing it to us!

This place looks incredible! I think you're going to be in for a treat of acoustic music here. The design of the stage area is made for music.

Oops, Sue, I put my comment within the quote!

You are sure lucky to have the opportunity to get some awesome acoustic. Hope you can get some video footage, Sue, you always do a nice job!

This looks like a remarkable place for any show - especially acoustic! Beautiful venue!

Should be two weeks prior. I think by next weekend we should be getting the email saying tickets have been printed. If you did Will Call then you need to bring your confirmation email.

Thankfully no snowstorms around for the weekend. A little rain here and there but warmer temps suits me just fine!! Safe travels to all!

I just got back. The show was, in a word, awesome. The venue is great. They had seats which I didn't expect and I was able to get into the third row maybe 10 feet directly in front of Warren. I would not, however, describe this as "acoustic Mule" not in the way that 1999 Michigan show was. Warren DID play his acoustic on a number of songs and he did a few solo and a couple with just Danny. But he also played electric (though not the Les Paul) and Matt used his full kit and Jorgen played electric bass the whole time (though he was sitting) Plenty of the songs rocked quite hard and there was plenty of guitar soloing from Warren as you all will hear soon enough. It was a terrific show though, perhaps the best I have seen in 2008, comparable with Mt. Jam. These New Years shows always seem to bring out the best in Warren.

Setlist Courtesy of biodtl5 at the Mule Army message board:

Set One

Glory Road
Affair On 8th Avenue
Broken Promised Land
Get Behind The Mule
Raven Black Night
I'll Be The One w/Blue Sky
Afro Blue w/Danny on trumpet
Bus Stop
About A Girl

Set Two

I Believe To My Soul
Don't Let It Bring You Down
It Hurts Me Too
Drums
Child Of The Earth

Where Did You Sleep Last Night?

The nods to Nirvana with About a Girl and Where Did You Sleep Last Night pretty much confirm an early 90's/grunge set on NYE at the Hammerstein.

And, hey!! Come on, now! Isn't anyone awake yet to give us their thoughts of the show?

Sue? Angela?

Sorry, Patience is on my list of things to work on in the New Year...

I was there early, by 6 and there was a line beginning to form but everyone kind of went in in a rush at 7. The show started around 8:15 or so and ran until around 11:20 or so.

I took some pictures which I will try to post later. It occurs to me that tonight's show might end a bit earlier as I was told that everything has to be out by midnight sharp and today they have to pack up all the equipment. I will say it is always a treat to see this band in these really small venues.

You will, I got plenty of video and this is one of them.

I was very surprised that the show consisted of electric Mule as well. What a beautiful balance of songs! That Don't Let it Bring You Down was outstanding. I did get a short video clip of that before my memory card was full but I do have backup!

The venue was much smaller than I expected. What a place and the acoustics were stealth! I also got " Get Behind The Mule" "Afro Blue" "About A Girl"

What will tonight bring? Stay tuned!
