Six times. Or gone to the Capitol with a Capitola Coin and got in free.

There is another Allman Joys poster from their gig at the Avalon Ballroom in early 1969. Santana was the headliner.

There's another poster from this show out there too.
The headliner was Tuscaloosa-based Rubber Band. They had a regional hit with a cover of Let Love Come Between Us. (James and Bobby Purify? Isleys?)
The Allman Joys were the opening act.
Members of the Rubber Band migrated to California and became the Sanford-Townsend Band. They had a hit with a song called Light of a Distant Fire. If I'm not mistaken, Kim Payne went to California with Johnny Townsend of the Rubber Band, hooked up with Gregg out there.

This was the only time I saw Duane Allman.

Thats pretty cool. I have been reading Skydog off and on. Some of the pics I have seen the clothes they are wearing are much more psych than the ones shown in the poster.

They were still in Daytona during the Allman Joys days.

A lot of the "Mod" clothing you sometimes see in the early pictures came from the Hourglass days, in California. On the instruction of Liberty Records.

The show the poster is from was in 1966.
