A DVD set is now available that include 2 discs from the benefit show in September. Disc 1 is Chris's set which included awesome versions of classic rock songs. Disc 2 is Dickey's first set from that show with Duane, Pedro, Mike and other special guests including an awesome bluesman that said he used to pick up Dickey when he was 15 and take him along to jam. Very good set with small crowd. The video was shot by a local outfit and is well done. Excellent Blue Sky and others with Dickey in rare form.

I was there and bought my copy in advance at the show. Live Dickey! Get it while you can.

Call Pam at 352-728-2137 to place an order.

It's not a home movie. These folks are professionals and the video quality is awesome. These folks had some high dollar cameras rolling. Strongly recommended for fans of Dickey and his band.

Yeah, Pedro is the man. I talked with him after the show and he said Andy and Frankie were taking time off and this was a last minute kind of deal. Duane and Mike really played well also. It's really a fun, loose show.

Dickey's set incudes High Falls, Statesboro, Blue Sky, One Way Out, and 2 or 3 old blues songs with the older bluesman which I'm not sure of titles (Hide and Seek?). I'll watch again to see if I missed anything.

I'm pretty sure this won't be available any where else. This is to benefit Chris Merrell, a really good dude.

Just watched it again -

High Falls
Statesboro Blues
Nothing You Can Do
My Getaway
Blue Sky
Hide and Go SeeK (Eddie Cochran song)
Unknown Blues Song
One Way Out

This was just the first set. I've asked about the second set but they said it will not be available. It included Back Where It All Begins, Liz Reed, Jessica, No One to Run With

I've seen Dickey several times over the last few years and this was a special show with Chris sitting in some and the older bluesman who sang on talking about playing with Dickey at 15 years old. Dickey said their band's name was The Flambeaus. Good stuff for all Dickey fans.

And most importantly for a good cause - Chris Merrell, who played with Dickey and ABB for a while.

I did not know this about Chris and Derek -

In 1990, The Derek Trucks band was looking for a singer and Chris got the part. So he went back on the road with Derek. The Derek Trucks band was voted entertainer of the year by Jam Magazine that year. Chris was the lead singer.
