I've never taken any hallucenagenic drugs and was wondering if those that had, can describe some of the things they " saw" while under the influence of these drugs...or thinsg they even saw while not under the infuence.

While tripping on blotter acid I was in a swimming pool and saw a bee that I thought was trying to kill me. I almost drowned myself trying to avoid it. That was my worst trip I ever had but I got over it quickly and started packing bongs.

Fluorescent colors and intricate patterns were always prevalent with me. I loved trees and clouds.

LOL! Most of the above - but I had a bad trip once - was positive my heart was beating so hard you could see my shirt jump. Went back to packing bongs same as LikeToSmoke. Also had wallpaper dancing, traffic lights melting, the hair on your arms looking like grain blowing in the breeze. Far out, man.

The test subject I spoke to never had any bad trips (well, the 1st one, Owsley Orange Barrel Sunshine circa 1970, was kind of tense for awhile when the undercover cops knocked on the door but things got better when they left...). This person did observe some scenes similar to the one posted by mulehead1 but no pink elephants and certainly nothing to match Hai's original posted picture Also, this person spoke of hallucenigens manifesting themselves in more than a visual manner - provided spiritual and physical highs in addition to the hallucenigenic ones. All in all, a good time. Or so I'm told...

when I was at Woodstock 69 this black guy only wearing a loin cloth and a top hat carrying a brief case was selling Orange Owsley, naturally I bought some and ingested, little while later I was observing this girl with long bouncing hair change right into the Budweiser Clysdesdales right before my eyes, horses wagons, etc. it was so friggin detailed and for the whole 3 and a half days I kept hearing my friends call my name (audio hallucinations I guess)

I never had the classic, blatant hallucinations that some encountered. I haven't done hallucinogens in 25 years, but as a purple microdot dealer back in high school, I pretty much ate my profit. 100 hits for $90, second one in line to get them from the source in California, sold them for $2 bucks a pop. If I sold 50 then I still made my money back plus ten bucks - and 50 left over. My brain was almost too strong as I could eat a lot. My experiences were more in line with trails and melting of my surroundings as opposed to cut-from-whole-cloth hallucinations appearing before me. I was tripping when I first heard the music of the prog-rock legends Camel around 1976 or so, and the music fit my electrified mind buzz perfectly. We ran into a guy at a party who lived in the old 1880's mansion-type neighborhood of Glendale here in Cincy, and his house had high ceilings and Underground Railroad hidden rooms in the basement. Wild. He found out I was tripping, found out that I had not heard of Camel and put their second album on and it went from there. Back then, I would pray before I took the acid to put me in a calm and positive state as the drug would begin to crawl all over my brain like a herd of ants. When I would close my eyes and listen to music, that is when the Pink Floyd animation movies would form and go crazy inside my head, and the "Lost Horizon" poster would come alive.

Ultimately, looking back, I regret that I ate and sold so much acid. In high school I was told that another student at Scarlet Oaks Vocational School, where I went for 11th grade before being booted out, that I sold it to had eaten three purple micros and was in one of the stairways of the school freaking out with teachers and cops having to talk him down. Even then, I felt bad about it because I sold it to him. The danger of LSD is that there are a lot of folks who took it who didn't have the tolerance that I did for it and would be sent over the edge. And, a teacher got dosed that year, and I did not feel good about that either. So, by my senior year in high school I had quit dealing acid and stuck with Sinsy bud.

If you were not mentally sound, if there was even a trace of doubt about your own sanity, acid would find it and exploit it. One night at the farm I lived at for two years back in the late 1970's and early 80's, a friend had taken some acid and eventually came down from his room upstairs to sit with me in the living room. He needed to be talked down as he found he couldn't handle it anymore. Yep, it is a cliche, but it is damn true that at times you would have to 'talk someone down.' I was doing acid at the time myself, but when somebody admits they can't handle it and thinks they are losing their mind and doesn't know what to do next, you have to deal with it. All of a sudden you are a babysitter of sorts. I did the normal thing, smoked some weed with him and offered up a beer or two. He took a while to deflate, though, so we ended up watching some 4am TV. One problem; this was back in the day before cable or satellite TV so there was only four local stations that were broadcasting at that time. Unfortunately, all of the local stations had signed off of the air. The only thing we could pick up was a far away TV station in Indianapolis, and we had to find every piece of wire and aluminum foil within reach and attach it to the antenna to get a signal. All we could tune in was some sound and a picture that consisted of about 4 out of every 10 pixels appearing on the screen. Still, with the acid putting our imaginations in full gear, that was just enough to occupy our brains as our minds would fill in the rest of the picture with who knows what.

I do regret doing it, however. I should have done it once or twice and let it go. Number one, at the end of the night I would be staring at the ceiling, almost bored, waiting for the sh*t to wear off so i could sleep. Secondly, while I never had a flashback, I do think that taking too much of it imprints on your nervous system. Thirdly, yes, it can open up parts of your mind that you didn't know existed. But, watch what you ask for. Knowing that it affected people in a highly negative way that couldn't handle it makes me wish I hadn't of provided it. It isn't physically toxic and won't give you a heart attack like coke will, but it can take away whatever normalcy you thought you had with your own mind. Not worth it.

DH

From mushrooms, I was out in the woods, and there was patch of kudzo that was growing over some trees off in a distance. The trees/kudzo were shaped like dinosaurs, little ones and big ones. We laughed and stared at that, it seemed forever. It looked the same when we were not under the influence. Trees are a pretty awesome thing. They sometime will take on a window pane look. Hold on if the wind starts blowing through the leaves. That can be a rush..

We did some at the Xmas Jam once. We had seats near the top. They had these big round circles/lights that would roll around the civic center walls while The Mule played. When they were playing Unring the Bell, we just stared at the stage and the audience on the floor started to take on a county fair look. It was pretty awesome.

I have not heard of many people halluncinating while drunk but about 10 years ago this December I was working in a fly camp in Northern BC (Fly camp means the only way in or out are by Helicopter). We worked in isolation for 4-5 weeks (an epic tale in itself) then went to a camp with road access for another two weeks.

It was nearing my bday and I wanted the heck out of this place, working 7 days a week 10 hours a day, in snowshoes with snow up to your knees/hips/neck with the same 4-5 people every day grinds on you and the tiime comes when everyone gets "bushed". Well luckily we got out of camp before we killed each other and headed south on my birthday. I was pumped to say the least.

We all had our little stashes of booze that we nipped on at the end of each work day but we would be so tired and being in a "dry camp" more then one drink was frowned upon.

Anyway we jump in the truck to head home with a 12 of beer and 3/4 of a bottle of whiskey between 3 guys. By the time we hit the first beer store about 4-6 hours away we were feeling pretty good. By the time we had dinner we were feeling really good. We then headed to a bar in the town of Quesnel called the Billy Barker Lounge. Billy Barker struck gold in BC and started the Cariboo Gold Rush in central BC way back when.

Anyway get to the point. I drank so much booze and beer that night that as I walked through the Billy Barker lounge I looked down at my legs and it was like I was wading though the red carpet. The carpet was hovering at my hips It was weird to say the least. It even felt like I was trudging through water. I was asking everyone what was in the Crown Royal??? Weirdest thing I have ever seen.

Shrooms were always the safest bet. You could control the buzz with how much you ate. You could never control the buzz you got when you ate a cube, blotter, tab, or liquid. I may sound like a pro, but haven't done that much in my life. Maybe 25 trips in my 50 yrs. Last shroom dose I didn't know was coming. It was tea.

Mmmm - mushroom tea ... puts me in mind of Mrs Brown's little refrishment shack on the beach in Negril (back in the 70's - I'm sure it's probably no longer there).
